Saffron
watched all this from where he was working, before turning his attention back
to the children, who were giggling and asking all types of questions about
christmas and Santa, which Saffron did his best to answer.
He got to the end of the line, and sat the basket on the 'fence' post, smiling
as he watched the kids. He brushed a hand over the skirt of the dress, to make
sure it was straight, glancing down, when he noticed two sharp polished shoes
appear close beside him, followed by the pants leg of sharp pin strip pants. At
the same time, he felt a hand come to rest on his rear end and straightened up,
turning enough to see who was bothering him and groaned. "What are you
doing here, Landan?!" Saffron hissed. "I thought I told you it was
over!"
Matt
tried to keep an eye on the kid, his expression and Faal's reaction to him
bothering him, but he let his gazed travel the crowd in search of their suspect
as well. He caught a flash of red out of the corner of his eyes as SAffrno spun
around to face someone behind him and he turned his attention to him for a
moment, glad of an excuse to look at him again without feeling guilty about
looking. He narrowed his eyes as he saw the man, taking in the blue hair and
elegant clothing.. and the way he looked at Saffron.
"Did
you really say it was over? I really don't remember you saying those
words..." Landan replied, standing next to Saffron, letting his hand come
to rest on Saffron's hip.
"No, I think I specifically said, it was over, Landan." Saffron
replied dryly, taking a step away from him, though Landan followed.
"Landan, I'm working, and I don't want a scene in front of these
kids...don't make me call security..." Saffron hissed.
"You look really good in that dress you know...I always liked it more when
you wore dresses..." Landan replied, with a smirk, though he didn't step
any closer.
"Landan, will you PLEASE just go..." Saffron hissed, a bit desprate
to be rid of him.
'I see you still know how to beg too..." Landan smirked wickedly, a hand
coming up to run the back of his fingers over Saffron's cheek. Saffron bit his
lip, but didn't pull away.
Matt
watched the guy with SAffron for as lonmg as he could stand it then, left his
post, striding across to where they stood. He could hear Safron's asking the
guy to leave, and reached out to catch hold of the guys wrist as he stroked
Saffron;s cheek. "The lady asked you to leave. " Matt said softly,
his eyes cold. "I suggest you leave... it's not wise to piss off the
elves.." he bit out.
Landan
turned a scowl on Matt and glared. "I don't remember you being in this
conversation, so maybe you should just go back to handing out candy
canes." He replied, pulling his wrist from Matt's grip.
"Landan, please!" Saffron hissed. "Do NOT start anything in front
of these children!" He stressed.
Landan looked back at him, befoer glancing at the kids, who weren't really
paying attention, but knowing there was no way they wouldn't see something, if
something did start. He looked back at Saffron a moment, before smiling
charmingly. "I'm not looking to start anything. I just wanted to ask if
you if I could see you tonight."
Saffron stared at him a moment, partly unbelieving he'd even ask that when he
specified, it was over, and part of him knowing better, that he would anyway.
"Landan...I.."
"Just tonight, one night.." Landan said charmingly.
Saffron cursed silently, crossing his arms, if it got Landan out of here, then
fine. "Alright, one night...now will you go?"
"Sure...see you at the usual time?" Landan asked. Saffron simply
nodded.
Matt
felt his stomach sink as he heard Saffron agree to the date.
"Saff..." he said softly, his eyes still on the guy. He couldn't put
his finger on it, but the guy set off all his warning bells... Either there was
something very wrong.... or he was jealous... Matt blushed at the thought, but
slipped an arm around Saffron to pull him back away from the guy.
"Saff..." he repeated softly, not sure just what he wanted to say,
but knowing he wanted to say something.
Landan
had started to turn away, until Matt did that, he turned back to them,
narrowing his eyes on Matt. Saffron blinked, looking up at Matt with an
innocent but questioning look. Landan was the one who spoke.
"Would you mind letting go of him? He is mine, you know."
Saffron snapped his head around. "Excuse me? Since when was I yours, in
public?" He asked, with a tone.
"Don't be silly, Saffron, you've always been mine, in public and
not." Landan replied with a sigh, shaking his head.
Matt
narrowed his eyes, his hands clenching into fists at the guys tone. He pulled
Saffron away and stepped between them. "Saffron doesnt 'belong' to
anyone." he said coldly. "And he asked you to leave... so fucking
leave. And forget about seeing him tonight. It's not happening ..Ever." he
added.
Faal , meanwhile ,did his best to keep his watch on the crowd and ignore
whatever was going on with Matt and Saffron, but it wasn;t easy. He tried to
get Eire's attention and get him to check it out, but the
half shade seemed to be looking everywhere but at him.
Landan
snorted, giving the guy a look. "I don't really think that it's any of
your business." He replied.
"Landan, please, just leave." Saffron begged. Landan was pushing his
luck and Saffron really didn't want a scene caused here.
Landan eyed Saffron for a moment, then shrugged. "Fine, but I'll see you
later, anyway." He said, turning and walking away.
Saffron watched him go, slightly pale, and sighed deeply. No doubt Landan would
keep his word and show up on Saffron's door step later...
"No..."
Mat said softly, starting after him when he suddenly remembered where he was
and what he was supposed to be doing. He cursed softly under his breath and
turned back to SAffron, taking hold of his arm lightly and pulling him aside.
"We need to talk..." he said softly. "The second we're done
here, you're coming with me..." he said, his voice soft but serious as he
shot a glance over his shoulder towards Landan.
"Excuse
me?" Saffron replied, looking up at him. "Exactly what do you mean by
I'm coming with you?" He asked in a hiss. "I appreciate the quick
save from my ex, but it's really my problem to deal with." Saffron
replied. "And why would you really care rather or not I'll be seeing him
later or not...?"
Lex watched Saffron and Matt discreetly. If Matt was smart, he'd take Saffron
out of sight and talk now...Lex shook his head and went back to focusing on the
job. He noticed the 'boy' had already left, and raised his head, looking around
for any sight of him.
It took him a moment, before he spotted Gillorn, back to looking like himself,
sitting on a bench near by, smirking and watching the whole scene.

Matt
clenched his jaw as he glanced at the kids then over to Faal. Making sure Faal
had things covered, he tightened his hold on Saffron;s arm and headed through
the gate, past the kids and parents. "Just... come with me, damn it."
he hissed back at him, aiming for the hall that led to the bathrooms where
they'd be away from the crowds and have some semblance of privacy.
Saffron
winced as Matt tightened his grip and started to try to pull away. He was used
to other men dominating, but this really wasn't the place, or time. "Matt,
we're supposed to be working..." Saffron hissed. He was aware of Faal,
Eire, Lex and Nick noticing Matt was leading him through the display and for
the hall the to the bathrooms. Once they reached that hall, there wouldn't be
any one around and the bathrooms were around the corner at the end of the hall,
completely out of sight.
"They're
covering... "Matt said simply. "Saff.. just come with me..." he
said, his voice holding a slight tired edge to it along with everythign else. "Don;t
make me throw you over my shoulder... that skirt isnt long enough..." he
said simply as he wove his way around a group of women and strollers who seemed
to have taken up residence in the middle of the hall.
"Fine,
I'm coming with you, not that I have any idea where you're dragging me
too..." Saffron replied with a tired sigh, the women casting them a look
as they went past them. Saffron had the feeling this was over Landan...he'd
never told any one about dating Landan...hell, he didn't tell any one he was
more into guys then girls...and he sure as hell hadn't said anyting to Matt, so
this could prove to be awkward...
Matt
caught some of the stares and glares from the women and let go of Saffron's
arm, grabbing hold of his hand instead. He cursed softly to himself the entire
way, side stepping hurried Christmas shoppers and run away kids until they
reached the hall way and ducked inside out of the major traffic flow with a
sigh of relief.
He paused in the enterance, making sure no one had followed , then pulled him
donw the rest of the hall.
Saffron
struggled to keep up in the heels, Matt pulling him a long. The hall was much
more empty. "Matt, is there a reason you're dragging me down this
hall?" Saffron asked. He stumbled with a misstep in the heels, struggling
to regain his balance, his one shoe almost falling off and attempted to pause
to put it back on right.
Matt
turned to look at why he'd stopped, sighed in frustration and lifted Saffron
off the floor, carrying him the last step around the corner out of sight with
the other arm. He set him back down, practically pinned against the wall.
"Alright... what the fuck is going on? Since when you do have a possesive
ass of an ex who has my fucking hair? And why the hell did you agree to see
him?" he hissed softly.
Saffron
managed to put his shoe on right, though he found himself practically pinned
against the wall and looked up at Matt. "Ex, would be the key word there,
although apparently Landan hasn't realized that part yet." Saffron replied
with a sigh, rolling his eyes. "And his hair is darker then yours, thanks.
As for how long...I'd been seeing him for about a year now... maybe a little
over a year. And possessive doesn't even BEGIN to describe him... And why does
it matter to you?" Saffron finally asked, with a look. "Did you ever
stop to wonder why your best friend was never dating any girls? Well now you
know, I perfer guys." He shifted, to slip away from Matt, starting to duck
under his arm. "And I agreed to see him, to get him the hell out of
there."
Matt
caught hold of him again, pulling him back again. "For the last year!? So
what... you've been flirting with me all this time because I remind you of him,
or some stupid shit like that?" he asked and glanced around the corner at
the sound of voices. "Fuck.." he muttered then yanked open the door
to the handicapped washroom and dragged Saffron inside, shutting and locking
the door behind them.
Saffron
turned and gave Matt a look. "Well its nice to know you noticed, however,
my flirting with you had NOTHING to do with him." Saffron snapped back.
"For your information, I'd called it quits with Landan not that long ago,
he just hasn't gotten it through his rotten head, that I meant it as over. I
got tired of being used..." He crossed his arms over his chest. This
couldn't have been a more absurd place to be discusing this.
Matt
snorted. "Sure... so you just happen to hook up with a guy with blue hair
for a year... and keep him a secret form your best friend.. who also happened
to have blue hair... odd coincidence..." he said snidely. "And yeah,
I fucking noticed.. I just tried not too... Although it does raise the question
of WHY you were doing it if you were seeing someone? I don't fucking flirt with
other people when I'm dating someone..
Saffron
leaned back against one wall, his arms still crossed. "Maybe I should
explain things a bit more, I wasn't DATING him...He was keeping me...as a
mistress." Saffron replied simply, his tone a bit softer. He looked at
Matt a moment. " And I told you, it had nothing to do with you! Landan is
a complete opposite of you, in every single way. Or maybe I just have a thing
for guys with blue hair, if that's what you want to think! And part drow as
well!"
Matt
just looked at him for a moment, all too aware of how close they were. "He
was 'keeping' you?!" he repeated softly. "'Keeping you'... fuck...
you know how that sounds?! And you actually put up with that shit?!" he
asked in surprise, the knowlege that Landan was drow only confirming the
uncomfortable feeling he got form the guy... Of course, that was no doubt a lot
more then just fae sense at work. "The Saffron that I've known wouldn't
let anyone 'keep' him... So how much of our friendship is bullshit?"
Saffron
looked up at him, his expression slightly hurt. "Is that what you
think?" He asked softly. He pulled away from the wall, moving to reach to
unlock the door, to leave. "There's a lot you don't know about me, Matt,
but you've seen the real me more then any one else has." He answered.
"Maybe not all of it, but I don't fucking lie to friends, and considering
you're the only one I've got!"
Matt
slammed a hand against the door, holding it closed. "You're not fucking
leaving, Saffron. Not until I get some damn answers!" he hissed. "Why
did you spend the last year letting that bastard 'keep' you?" he asked,
moving to lean against the door itself. He was trying not to let the sight of
Saffron in that cute little outfit distract him, but it had been hard enough
before hand when he'd just though he'd been playing a role... Now that he knew
the truth, it was damned near impossible.
Saffron
stumbled back from the door, staring at Matt a moment, and did his best to
recover from the surprise of Matt's actions and tone. "Why? Because I'm a
masocist." He replied sarcastically. "Fucking hell, I told you there
were things about me you didn't know! And being used is one of them! It's been
a common life theme for me. And Landan had a fucking twisted way of being
absolutely charming, while making me submit." He looked away from Matt,
leaning back agaisnt the wall behind him again. "Let me go, Matt..."
He added softly.
Matt
just looked at him for a moment, then shook his head. "Fuck." he said
softly. "So let me get this straight... You've been living a double life
for a year at least... Being a guy for your family and a girl for the rest of
the world. You have a controlling bastard for an ex, who you just agreed to see
tonight, despite the fact that you don;t want to be with him anymore." he
said, walking over to stand in front of Saffron, stopping so close that they
were practically touching. "And the entire time you've been my friend...
All the flirting... all that was real... You prefer guys.. and you like
me..." he said. "How'd I do? Get it all?" he asked softly.
Saffron
snorted softly, still not looking up at him. "Yeah, most of it. You just
forgot to add the submissiveness, but who's keeping score? Yeah, you got it
all." He replied with a slight tone. He finally turned his gaze, looking
up at him. "What are you going to do now?" He asked, the challenge
evident in his tone.
Matt
smirked at Saffron's tone, then gave in to the impulses he'd been fighting all
along, especially that day. He caught Safforn in a hard, hungry kiss, his hands
going to his waist. With a soft growl of frustration, he lifted Saffron off his
feet, pressing him back against the wall even harder, the kiss growing even
more demanding.
Saffron
was caught by surprise, gasping softly behind the kiss and finding himself
pinned against the wall. He wasn't sure which was more surprising, that Matt
was kissing him, or that it was so damned good... He submitted to Matt, one leg
wrapping around Matt's hips, his arms resting on his shoulders.
Giving
himself over to the moment and way Saffron made him feel and think, Matt closed
his eyes, not letting up on the intensity of the kiss for a moment. He let his
body weight hold Safforn against the wall and slipped his hands over his thighs
and under the skirt of the dress, the bare skin against his hands bringing
another moan.
The connection between them from their powers was even stronger then he could
ever remember it being before, and it was a rather heady feeling. He wasn't
sure if it was that alone that had him feeling as if he were drunk or high, or
that in combination with the knowledge that he wanted Saffron ; guy or girl, it
didn't matter... he wanted him and the thought of someone else having him made
him furious and jealous as hell.
Focusing on the moment and Saffron, Matt began to pull the lace shorts he could
feel beneath his hands down over Saffron;s hips as far as he could without
setting him down; the urge to rip them off incredibley strong.

Saffron
had surrendered completely to Matt. Though for the first time it wasn't simply
out of habit, because submitting was what he'd always done in a situtation like
this, this time he wanted to... Though there was a little voice in the back of
his head that said you didn't sleep with your best friend...and it was
definitely a good way to ruin a friendship, but damn...he'd wanted Matt to do
this for to long.
Feeling Matt tugging down the boylegs, Saffron whimpered softly behind the
kiss, squirming between him and the wall a bit, which only allowed Matt to pull
the knickers lower, the lace garment slipping down.
He was aware this could all go very wrong, and this really wasn't the place to
be doing this...But then who was he to say stop...
Matt
set Saffron down for a second, breaking the kiss long enough to pulled the
underwear off the rest of the way. "You want to belong to a blue haired
half drow... fine.. but you belong to THIS one..." he growled softly,
pulling the holster form the back of his pants and tossing it lightly into the
sink out of the way, before pulling SAffron back in for another kiss. "And
no one else fucking touches you... Ever.." he added, lifting him back up
again, Saffrons legs going back around him again. He pushed the dress up up
between them as he kissed him hungrily, then pulled his tunic out of the way
and fumbled with the belt holding the leggings up.
Saffron
pulled back from the kiss for a gasp of air, his arms around Matt's neck, his
legs around Matt's waist. "Are you laying claim on me then?" He asked
breathlessly. He'd never really expected things to go this far...after all, the
reason he'd never told Matt how he felt about him was because he didn't think
Matt would ever feel the same.
"Yeah."
he answered simply. "Problem with that?" he asked, kissing his neck,
as he got his pants undone and let them drop. "You win, alright? You
wanted me.. you got me..."he said in a soft, almost breathless growl as he
shifted Saffron against him, trying for the best angle. He gave a soft moan as
he nibbled on Saffron neck, the tip of him rubbing against him, ready.
"Just hope you're ready to accept the consequences ..."
"Consequences...that
may be the other way around..." Saffron breathed, biting back the moan,
his head back against the wall and his eyes closed. The whimper did escape at
feeling him rub against him. "Matt, don't fucking tease..." he moaned
softly. "I've wanted this for a while now..."
"I
don;t tease.." Matt said softly as he pressed against him, then moaned
loudly as he slid inside him. He caught Saffron's mouth with his own again,
kissing him hungrily, his hands gripping his waist as he moved within him.
There
wasn't any thing else Saffron could do but let Matt be in charge of this, not
that he was complaining; quiet the opposite really... He kissed him back just
as hungry with a whimper, his arms tight around Matt's neck, and his legs
around his waist. This was still the most absured place and time for this to be
happening, probably worse then the library incident...And it absolutely changed
everything between them.

The
pace was fast and hard, neither of them wanting to hold back. The flow of power
between them only acted to increase the urgency and passion of the moment.
After only a few seemingly endless moments, Matt's orgasm hit him, making him
break the kiss with a gasp.
Saffron
was left spent and gasping for breath, his head back against the wall. Coming down
from such a rush and feelings like that, wasn't exactly easy, and it was a good
thing Matt was keeping him up right, or he wouldn't have been up right. He
opened his eyes after a moment, and looked up at Matt, the green lighter then
normal, though a smokey shade. He hesitated a moment, before asking the
question that was fore most in his mind. "So where does this leave
us?" He asked softly.
Matt
leaned against the wall, pinning Saffron in place, panting for breath. He
smirked softly at his question. "In a bathroom about to face our
coworkers.. one of whom has a magic nose and will know exactly what we just
did.." he chuckled softly, looking into his eyes. "But I dont care
about them. You're mine now... " he said, brushing his lips against
Safrons ear. "Just like you wanted... and as soon as we're done this
job... we're going to your place." he added simply.
Saffron
sighed softly, was very aware they were going to have to face the others now
and that Lex would know doubt already know what had happened, and that Eire
would no doubt pick up on it too. And really, he didn't care...to much. He just
had a feeling this was going to cause more trouble then Matt thought.
"Alright...fine...there's only a couple more hours left in the
day..." He said softly in reply. "But what about your
girlfriend...?" He pointed out softly.
"Ex
girlfriend." Matt said simply, setting Saffron back on his feet, but
keeping a hold on him. "And she'll deal. 'Bout fucking time I dumped her
ass for a change anyhow.." he said. "And you were right... Yeah the
sex with her was great.. but its not enough to have a relationship on.. "
he kissed Saffron;s neck softly. "And the sex with you is looking to be
beyond great .. and you're my best friend to boot. Think that's a way better
deal... don't you?" he asked.
Saffron
managed to pull away long enough to pull up the boylegs. "I don't get
it..." He said softly, not looking at Matt. "I don't get how you're
so calm about all of this...because you never struck me as being even REMOTELY
interested, even when I did flirt..." He added, trying to straighten the
dress.
Matt did up his pants, retreiving the holster and slipping it back in place
before he answered. "How can I deal with any of the shit in my life? How
can I deal with S.J. and all her shit? How can I look at a zombie knowing that
it used to be a person and that I'm the reason it's standing there rotting away
as it walks around? How can I deal with seeing people that aren't physically
there or hearing them in my head constantly and not go insane?" he asked
softly, straightening his outfit rather than look at him. "I don;t know,
Saff.. I just do. Damn near everything in my life that I have to accept and
deal with is shit... so why should I have a problem when it's not?" He
fixed his pony tail then snatched up the hat from the floor where it had
fallen, and shook it back into shape before putting it back on his head.
"I've always felt something more than friendship between us... I've always
felt that attraction.. I just denied it; pushed it away. But why bother if you
feel it to?" he asked simply, finally turning to face him. "You're
not meeting Landan tonight. He lays a hand on you again and I'll kill
him." he said, matter of fact. "Ready to go?"
"Then
you better be the one to answer the door when he shows up, because he
will..." Saffron answered, straightening the stockings. He sighed, but
looked up at him. "But you never really answered my question. Once we
leave this bathroom, are we more then just friends, or was this a one time
thing?"
Matt
looked at him for a minute then shook his head with a smirk. "Saff... Did
any thing I just said make it sound like a one time thing?" he asked
simply, then went to him, slipping one hand through Saffron's hair to cradle
his face. "We're more then just friends, Saff." he said softly.
"And this.. as great as it was... this was just me making you mine...
" He kissed him softly. "And you ARE mine, Saffron."
Saffron
sighed softly, contentedly behind the kiss, his eyes closed. He never thought
he'd hear those words from Matt... He couldn't help it, he was such a
romantic... However in the back of his mind he could feel Lex's anxiety and
knew it was over them. "If this was just you making me yours, I can hardly
wait for the rest," He answered softly. "But we really should get
back out there...before some one comes looking for us here..." He added
softly, but seriously.
Matt
smirked softly and stole another kiss before he unlocked the door and opened it
to find the hallway empty. He reached back and took hold of Saffron's hand.
"Come on.. let's go give the Office Gossip.. something juicy to talk about
behind our backs...See how many people back there know about us before we even
get there..."
Saffron
snorted softly as they left the bathroom. "Don't be surprised..." He
replied softly. He wasn't sure how he was going to manage to concentrate the
rest of the afternoon on this high...it'd been good before, just beind around
Matt, now...it was fucking fantastic, this was going to be hard...

They
headed back out toward the Santa display and Saffron could already see Lex
looking for them, chewing on his bottom lip. Saffron shook his head, meeting
Lex's gaze and ended up blushing, which only caused Lex to blush and look away.
Faal
had been prepared to give Matt shit about abandoning his post and a horde of
other things that he'd been stewing about since the man had dragged Saffron
off... but the sight of him and Saffron holding hands as they approached caught
him off guard. He noticed both looking happier than he could recall seeing
either of them, although Matt had a some what smug look about him as well...
Faal cast a glance at Lex and then sighed, turning his attention back to his
job, deciding to leave the lecture for Clarice...
Matt ignored the curious looks as they slipped past the line up and through the
gate. He paused for a moment, making sure the others could see them, and stole
a kiss. "Remember what I said, babe.." he said softly with a smirk,
before heading back to his post, giving Nick and Faal a slight nod as he
passed.
Saffron
watched him head for his post, and shook his head, a faint smile, before moving
back toward where he'd left the basket, but Lex intercepted him. Saffron shook
his head slightly again. "You know, I figured you two would just
talk..." Lex said in a whisper.
"We did talk." Saffron replied with a wicked smirk. He noticed Eire,
looking around from behind the camera and his nose was definitely twitching.
Saffron gave him a look.
Matt
settled back into the routine of body guard easily, the cheerful 'ho ho ho'ing
from Santa no longer that irritating. And even though he still stole the odd
glance in Saffron;s direction, he was no long a serious distraction. Maybe it
was just the 'after glow' that seemed to still be with him; the way the
connection they shared seemed even stronger now, or maybe it was something
more. Either way, Matt felt comfortable knowing that Safron was his. Not even
the thought of having to face S.J. and tell her it was over got in the way of
his good mood. He never imagined he'd feel this way, and he certainly never
imagined he'd ever step forward and make a move on Saffron like he'd just
done... but he'd been truthful with Saffron when he'd said that he had to
accept and deal with a lot of things that would drive most people nuts;
accepting and dealing with something as wonderful as this... was a dream come
true.
