Faal was still floating, although he
had managed to come a bit closer to the ground since the court house...
although the champagne wasn't helping. The roof top patio was crowed
with well wishers, friends and family, and they'd already had a few too
many toasts. Faal was very glad he was Fae and alcohol took a bit more
and a bit longer to effect him then it did most.... Lex was leaning on
his arm and kept giggling every time someone came over to hug them
and gave their congratulations. He'd noticed some of the women eyeing
them for quite some time now and knew they were plotting on how to
drag Lex off...
Lex had also noticed the shifting
looks, Aiyla, Alandra, Regan and Rue kept shooting in his direction and
there was no way he was going to give them a chance, hopefully. He'd
had to take off the high heels after a while, so was running around in
his stocking feet. Lex also noticed Saffron kept looking in their
direction. Lex lowered his glass, looking back at Saffron when he
caught his eye, and raised an eyebrow, but Saffron quickly looked away again. Lex sighed.
"Surely you're not tired already,
love... they'll never let us escape so early. It's only been... two
hours? " He pulled Lex against him, wrapping his arms around his waist.
"Especially since we get to be alone for the next day and a half
without any one ' dropping in' while they're all busy with the final
preparations..."
"At least they're taking care of the
final preparations...but did you know Jasmine wants to come get me at
seven am..." Lex muttered, leaning against Faal. He noticed Auron had
moved over to speak to Saffron, but Regan cut off the view as she
approached, she was carrying another glass of champainge and before Lex
could protest, switched his half empty glass for the full one. "You do
realize, I got all this champainge from the Lion's Gate, so you'd
best drink it before Mike finds out I'm pilfering from my own stock."
She said with a grin.
Faal chuckled. "You do realize that if
you get us all drunk we're going to need more than a day to recover
enough for the royal wedding." Regan smiled mischieviouls and
wiggled her eyebrows."Mayeb we're just making sure you two have no
energy to escape BEFORE the royal wedding.." She laughed as she slipped
away. Lex sighed and leaned his forehead against Faals chest, the
champagne glass held carefully away so it wouldn't spill. "I wouldn't
put it past them, you know." Faal said. "The women in our families have
proven to be quite devious at times..."
Lex was looking at the glass she'd
brought him. "Why do I suddenly get the feeling it's drugged?" He
muttered softly, before reaching to his side and putting the glass on
the table. "If only we could get away with slipping out the back..." He
looked at Faal with a slight smile. Then said softly. "I haven't had a
chance to tell you how handsome you looked..."
Faal blushed slightly and flipped a
length of hair over his shoulder. "I remember you admiring a similar
outfit one day while we were out.. and you're always letting my hair
loose and playing with it... I'm glad you liked it." He said, raising
Lex's finger to his mouth and gently kissing them. "You are beyond
words. When I saw you walk in the room I thought you couldn't possibley
be real, that you must have been a dream to have looked so
perfect....I also thought i was going to faint.. I must have a
humoungous bruise on my arm where Estehl pinched me." he chuckled
softly.
Lex blushed but wondered vaguely what
Faal would think of him in the gown. "I guess I owe Jasmine...she
picked an excellent shop...although she kept trying to talk me into
getting a dress..." He said, laying his head on Faal's shoulder. "But
you did look very handsome and I think, if it wasn't for Dad, I
wouldn't have been able to walk that distance..." He curled a strand of
Faals' hair around his: fingers.
Faal wrapped his arms tighter around
Lex. "If I didn't think they'd make us suffer worse at the next
reception, I'd sweep you off your feet and take you home right now." He
gave a sigh and stroked his fingers over a bare shoulder." But I
believe this is the lesser of two evils... dman .. spoke too soon." he
said as Rue approached with a mischievious look in her eye, Chaos at
her side.
We're not
interrupting are we?" Rue asked sweetly. Lex gave her a look. "I know
that look, Rue..." "What look?" She asked innocently. "I just want to
steal you away for a few minutes, promise..." She added. Lex took a
breath, bit back the retort, let the breath out and asked, "Why?"
"Because...one I'd like to talk to you...two, Jasmine wants to talk to
you..." Rue said. Lex rolled his eyes, but Rue had already grabbed
his arm. "Come on, just a few minutes...beside, you'll have all day
tomorrow to have Faal to yourself." She said. "Excuse us, Faal." She
added, before dragging Lex off.
Faal fought the urge to argue and try
to stay with Lex.. he knew any attempts would only make it worse later
on. He'd been warned about some of the 'repercussions' they could deal
out for the royal wedding and reception... He picked up Lex's abandoned
glass of champagne and took a sip as he turned around.. if he couldn't
see Lex being dragged away, maybe he wouldn't be so tempted to go after
him..
Rue dragged Lex off, toward Jasmine,
Aiyla, and Alandra. She glanced over hershoulder to see if Chaos was
staying to talk to Faal or following. As they went, they passed Saffron
who actually seemed to be approaching Faal and Lex caught sight of his
father actually smirking as he wtched Saffron. "Uh..." Lex attempted to
dig his heels to stop. "Saffron is a big boy...And I'm sure Faal can
put up with him." Rue replied, getting a better grip on Lex's shoulders and steering him on.
Chaos resisted the urge to
congratulate Faal yet again and left him to sulk in Lex's absence.
She'd done her part in running back up for Rue's kidnapping, in case
Faal had resisted. She smiled and turned, her eyes seeking out
Auron. Faal spotted Saffron when he was just a few feet a way.
The look of grim determination and... something else on the mans face
made Faal suddenly gulp the remains of the champange.
Auron settled down near by in a chair,
and was waiting for Chaos, one eye on Saffron. He'd told the boy just
to go and talk to Faal, and after a bit of protesting, Saffron had
agreed. Saffron took a breath, reached Faal's side, and
contemplated what to say, then said the first thing that came to mind.
"Er...glad everything went okay,..."
Faal set the glass aside."thank you. I
hope you haven't changed your mind about being my second.. er.... best
man at the next ceremony. It really would mean a lot to us..." Chaos
slipped into her chair and took Auron's hand in hers as she stole a
kiss. "I can't believe one of our kids just got married.. the second
youngest... just got the two older ones now.. Dev will be a while
longer yet i think.."she said with a smile as she watched the four year
old dancing with Lily Rose....
"Yes, well, I think he's already
decided." Auron said, watching the two young children himself. "And I
think Lex is still in shock to be honest...but I'm happy for him...Its
just Saffron i'm worried about..." He stroked Chaos' fingers with his
thumb.
Saffron shook his head. "No...I mean,
I haven't changed my mind. I know it would mean a lot to Lex...I just
haven't told him yet..." Faal gave a sigh of relief and smiled. "I'm
glad, but don't worry if you don't get a chance to tell him.. I rather
think the look on his face when he sees you there will be more then
enough to tell you how he feels about it."
Saffrom looked back at Faal, silent a
moment, then shook his head. "You hope. Lex and I aren't exactly on the
best of terms for a pair of brothers..." Lex tried to focus on what Aiyla was rambling on about, but he'd been watching Faal and Saffron.
"No, Saffron, I don't hope.. I know.
Lex may not be good at talking to people or telling them his feelings
about them, but he does love you. He's just a very shy and private
person, especially about personal things. He's sad the two of you
haven't been able to bond closer, he wishes it were different. He wants
so much for you to accept him as he is. And he'll probably be very
upset with me for telling you all this... "
"It's not tht I don't...I mean, I'm
happy he's himself, really, I am...it's just..." Saffron trailed off
not even sure what he was trying to say himself. "I'd rather him be
happy, then anything...and I don't think he would have...married you
if he wasn't..." Saffron shut his mouth again, downed the scotch in his
hand and cast a forlorn glance around while trying to get his thoughts
together.
Faal watched Saffron for a moment.
"Would you perfer if we spoke in private?" he asked. "I know for a fact
our apartment is empty.. and as far as I know still furnished if a tad
dusty. Plus it's only a short walk."
"Maybe it would...be easier to speak
in private." Saffron said, with a gesture. He was watching Lex, who for
once seemed totally relaxed and was smiling as he talked with the
women. He was holding Maya who had appearently begged for him to hold
her.
Faal gestured for Saffron to lead the
way. "Mind if we stop off at the bar on our way... I get the feeling
that we could both use another drink." He happend to catch sight of
Lex and felt his heart suddenly full to bursting.
"Don't mind at all." Saffron muttered
into his empty glass. He turned his eyes away from Lex and sighed, but
didn't catch Lex looking in their direction. Lex's smile had faultered
a bit, and he was watching his brother and Faal quizzically, until Maya
grabbed an earring and tugged hard.
Faal gave Lex a reassuring smile but
he wasn't sure if he saw or not. The two men paused long enough to grab
a fresh drink each, Faal switching to scotch, and then they headed for
the stairs. Faal looked over his shoulder at Lex before they headed
down, wanting to make sure he was alright...
Lex had seen Saffron and Faal heading
down the stairs and started to distangle himself from everyone else,
when Regan grabbed his arm. "LEt them talk..." She said softly in his
ear. Lex sighed, letting Regan drag him back. Saffron followed
Faal silently, mulling over things, once in the hall, away from
everyone else, he said softly. "Look, I know I probably came off as a
right jerk before hand...it wasn't that I didn't like you...or didn't
like you being with Lex...it's just...Lex..."
"Has been through too much and is a
delicate soul and promotes incredible feelings of protectiveness...
especaially from a big brother." Faal said stopping and turning back to
face Saffron.
"Yeah..." Saffron agreed, already
taking a drink. "Well, for the most part...besides, I know much his
saftey means to...well everything...But I shouldn't be so...overly
protective as Regan puts it..."
Faal leaned against the wall and
regarded Saffron. "You are speaking to someone just as guilty on that
charge.Lex just inspires it from us. I tried very very hard to NOT be
over protective.. I stood by and let insults fly until I couldn't stand
to see Lex hurt anymore. All I wanted to do was stop the hurt before it
started, but no one can do that. We just block as much as we can and
help pick upthe pieces..."
Saffron took a large drink, swallowed
then sighed and met Faal's eyes. "To be perfectly honest, I don't
think...the hurt is ever really going to stop for him...I mean yeah, we
can block as much as we can but...this is Lex we're talking about...to
many of the wrong people are interested in him...we can get rid of one,
but then some one or something else pops up...There's always...some one
in the shadows waiting..." He was kicking himself, unbeknownst to
anyone, he knew he'd done a bad thing recently... "Look, maybe it would
be better if I didn't stand as your best man..." he muttered.
"I thought you said you weren't going
to back out?" Faal asked , his eyes narrowed as he watched Saffron.
"There's something you're not saying Saffron.. tell me."
Saffron drained his glass, shifted
uncomfortably, and had to look away. "I don't know, if Lex has ever
mentioned to you...that one line that's drawn between him and I...When
I was 14 and...serving my stint in hell, I was told I'd be betrayed
some day...in the worst possible way...I didn't know until I met Lex
that it was supposed to be Lex who'd betray me...the three years that
I've gotten with mybrother, I've tried over and over again, not to even
think about that warning...but I couldn't shake it...I know Lex would
never intentionally do something...but..."
Faal frowned then looked down at his
untouched glass and offered it to Saffron. "This warning...was it a
prophecy? I'd like to hear it... I know form experience that
prophecies can be very conveluted things that more often then not turn
out to be selffullfilling..."
Saffron absently accepted Faal's
glass. "I don't know if it's a prophecy, Arcanina never said....She's
brought it up more then once...The last time I was there she brought it
up, inquiring how things were between Lex and I...Let me ask a
question...can something like this...be...completely turned around?" He
realize that probably made no sense and drained the second glass.
"That depends... if it's a prophecy,
the best way to stop it is to ignore the prophecy, I think. Prophecy's
come to pass because people believe in them and take steps to avoid it
or promote it... for instance... I heard of a mortal king who was told
that his unborn child would cause his death... so as soon as the child
was born he grabbed the babe and ran outside... tripped over a rock and
broke his neck.. if he had ignored the prophecy..." Faal shrugged. "
That tends to be the way with the majority of them. But if its not a
prophecy.. then how do you know its legitamate?? Some random seer told
Arcania to pass on a message about something over a dozen years in the
future??" he sighed shaking his head. "I don't know Saffron.. I seems
more like someone was trying to ferment discord between you two... "
Saffron groaned. "Yeah...that's what I was afraid of..." He muttered. Then groaned again. "Lex is going to kill me..."
Faal chuckled. "No he won't... we just
won't tell him." he said, giving Saffron's shoulder a reassuring
squeeze. " you know.. this is a tad over whelming for me... I went from
having no family.. to having a brother and three sisters.. to having
three brothers, four sisters, a mother and father.. all be it,
'inlaw', and a 'wife'... "
"Welcome to the family..." Saffron
muttered, partly dry, partly good natured. "I imagine it's a bit over
whelming for Lex as well..." He decided to leave off on the subject of
the warning, and couldn't exactly tell Faal that Lex probably WOULD
kill him when Lex found out what Saffron had done...
Faal gave Saffron's shoulder another
squeeze then a pat. "thank you, Saffron.. really, thank you. I won't
tell LEx about this warning.. he doesn't need to know what someone told
you when you were a kid.. he's got enough on his plate, and so do you.
Let's leave this here with us."
"Yeah...that's a good idea...look, I
apologize for being a total ass..." Saffron gave an sheepish smile.
"But you really should get back to Lex, before the girls drive him
crazy..." Saffron glanced back at the stairs. "And...you know, congrats
and all..."
Faal chuckled. " Thank you.. and you'r
right. I think Lex has languished long enough. And as sappy as this
sounds... I miss him. " He chuckled and gestured for Saffron to lead
the way and followed along behind, his mind already dancing through
ideas of what to do when he finally got his 'bride' home...
At seven am sharp, Jasmine appeared on
the house's doorstep, ringing the bell. A tad impatient, but they had a
lot to do before the wedding, and she had told Lex she'd be after him
at seven am. Lex on the other hand, did not want to get up, for
one he was far to comfortable and warm, for two, who's to say they'd
actually gotten a lot of sleep the night before. He could hear the door
bell even from upstairs and proceeded to cover his head with the pillow, groaning.
Faal gave a low growl and curled
himself closer around Lex. "Ten to one that's a certain sister in law
of mine..."he said, cracking one eye open. "I don't suppose she'd take
the hint and go away if we ignored her...."
Jasmine drummed her fingers on her
arm, then pressed the buzzer again. If they kept her waiting much
longer, she was going to just walk right in. She was hardly patient to
wait when they had so much to do. "I don't wanna get up..." Lex
muttered from under his pillow. "But then you know her...she's lively
to come busting in..." He moved the pillow to look at the clock. Seven
Am was WAY to early for Lex.
Faal sighed and lifted his head, then
propped himself up on one arm to look down at Lex. With another sigh he
leaned down and gave Lex as long and drawn out a kiss as he thought
Jasmine would wait for, then slipped out of bed and pulled on the
silky lounge pants he'd discarded on the floor the night before. "I'll
go stall her as long as I can love..."
Lex sighed. "Gods, we should've just
eloped. Shuoldn't hav told ANYONE and just eloped..." He muttered,
shoving the hair out of his face and watching Faal head for the door,
before slowly detangling himself from the blankets. Jasmine had had enough, with out futhrer thought she took the spare key from her purse, unlocked the door and walked in.
Faal was at the top of the stairs when
he heard the click of a key in the lock and groaned. Somehow he doubted
Lex had given out a key, and since he KNEW he hadn't... "Good morning,
Jasmine... breaking and entering now, are we?" he called out as he was
walking down the stairs. He was wearing nothing but the pants and his
hair was no doubt a mess.. and he suspected he had pillow creases on
him somewhere.. but he figured anyone who would wake someone up this early in the morning didn't deserve the effort.
"Perhaps, and maybe I'll feel like
explaining it to the cops later, but at the moment...I told Lex I'd be
here at seven sharp. There's to much to do to delay it much longer..."
She replied tartly, already starting up the stairs intent to retrive
the 'bride' "You guys had a whole day to yourselves, SURELY you didn't
stay up last night!" She gave Faal a look, pausing long enough to look
him over then rolled her eyes. "Evidently, I was wrong." She said with
a snort. "Lex! Get your cute little ass down here!" She called,
starting up the stairs again. Lex groaned, already half dressed. If the day started out like this...
Faal sighed and leaned against the
wall as Jasmine stalked past him. "Your attitude smacks of retailation
for something done to you on your wedding... don't torture the poor
boy.. this is supposed to be a happy day.. it can't be happy if he's
being run roughshod over by a batch of pushy harpies..." he said,
adding a grin so she'd know he was at least partially joking. " Come
on, love... time to get this over with so we can run away together..."
"Harpy now is it?" Jasmine growled, eyeing him. "You just wait, Ellander!" She pointed a finger at him. Lex
put his hair in a pony tail, pulled on a sweater over his jeans and
went out into the hall. "Easy, you two...I might be a tad resentful if
blood gets spilled..." Faal jogged up the stairs past Jasmine and
scooped Lex into a hug. He leaned down for another kiss. "Next time
something big pops up, I'll take your advice... you were right, we
shouldn't have told anyone..." He shot a michievioius look at Jasmine.
"SOME people just have a natural talent for sucking the fun out of
everything and turning it all into a chore..."
Jasmine shot him an unamused look. "I
haven't even BEGUN to make this difficult yet!" She hissed. Lex had to
giggle softly, before kising Faal back. "I suppose," He said mock
dramatically, "I'll see you in a bit...think you can handle a couple
hours with out me?" Jasmine rolled her eyes. "I'm sure he'll manage
just fine." She remarked, grabbing Lex's arm.
" I suppose I don't have a
choice."Faal said and stole one last kiss as Jasmine was dragging Lex
down the stairs. "At least take the time to feed him!!" he called after
them, chuckling softly at Jasmine's irritaed snort. Estehl was NOT
going to be amused if she went and complained to him about his teasin,
but oh well... since they'd been dragged into this whole royal wedding
against their will, he at least was determined not to make it easy on those responsible...With a grim smile he turned and went to get dressed. Jasmine dragged Lex down the
stairs, through the door and once outside the house, said. "I apologize
for the bad mood, Aerieth and Aisleen are already at the palace..." She
told him. "Oh great..." Lex muttered. "We'll just pick up Regan and
Clarice and be on our way." Jasmine said, opening a rift straight to
hall out side Clarie and Auron's apartment, and shoved Lex through,
before following.
Clarice and
Auron were just finishing their coffee as Devin finished off his
cereal, where the door chime sounded. She stood with a grin, setting
her mug in the sink. "That'll be my ride." she said and leaned down to
kidd Devin's cheek. "Be good for Dad, okay? I'll see you later on." She
turned and kissed Auron. "You be good too. "she said with a grin and
grabbed her dress bag and carry case as she headed for the door.
Clarice and Auron were just

"Be good for Dad, okay? I'll see you later on." She turned and kissed
Auron. "You be good too. "she said with a grin and grabbed her dress
bag and carry case as she headed for the door. Jasmine and Lex were waiting rather impatiently as she emerged. Not seeing Regan she frowned...
"Well, at least SOMEONE has
enough since not to keep me waiting." Jasmine said with a grin. She
glanced around. "Wasn't Regan supposed to be meeting us here?" At that
moment, a door a little down the hall, which was Eire's place, opened,
Regan put one foot in the hall, leaned back in, the door for something,
emerged with a giggle, shutting the door behind her and saw everyone
standing in the hall,: which only made her giggle more.
Chaos raised an eyebrow but
didn't say anything. At first. When Regan had joined them she quietly
told her daughter. "Your father will be thrilled, I'm sure." Jasmine
gave a soft snort of amusement and reopened the rift. Regan tried to
stiffle her laugh, but shrugged. "You can tell dad it wasn't exactly
what he'll probably think it was." "Was it?" Lex asked. "Maybe..."
Regan said with a grin. Jasmine snickered, "Alright, everyone through,
we'll come out in my dressing room in the palace, and pray to gods none
of the sisters are in there waiting..." She shoved Lex through. And as
she fortold he came out in her dressing room which was empty, for the moment. Regan followed, carrying her garment bag and still laughing softly.
Chaos was the last through, the
rift closing behind her as she stepped through. "I was about to giving
serious consideration to setting the boy up... it was a toss up between
you and Charli. You are the only two I could think of who could handle
him." She looked around the room, setting her stuff down. "Alright...
Lex hun, you look like Jasmine dragged you out of bed.. have you eaten
yet? "
"Jasmine DID drag me out of bed."
Lex muttered, stiffling a yawn. "Well if the two of you hadn't stayed
up so late." Jasmine replied. "How do you know?" Lex challenged. Regan
snickered, but answered her mother. "Oh, he's not THAT hard to
handle..." "And how long have you two been seeing each other?" Jasmine
asked, going over to a bell cord. "Awhile." Regan answered. "We just
didn't want to say anything just yet..." She grinned.
Chaos smirked. "Get his drinking
undercontrol, and youll have a good man. Jasmine, hun.. how about we
feed Lex before we do anything else? The last thing we need is to have
him passing out on us.. Faal would never forgive us, and the entire
court would be gossiping about it forever. "
"I'm seeing to that." Jasmine
said in a sing song tone, pulling the bellcord. A moment later, a lady
in waiting appeared. "Breakfast, Brigit. On the double." She told her.
"Of course, your majesty." The lady in waiting bowed and left the room.
Jasmine moved over to a wardrobe in the corner and opened both doors.
There on a sewing pedistal was Lex's gown. On the shelf next to it,
Jasmine dug around nd removed a velvetin box, "I got Estehl to loan
this...it was Aiyla's, their mother's." She said, bringing the box over
and opening it. What lay inside was a diamond and emerald necklace of
royal quility.
Chaos felt her breath catch in
throat and heard Regan's gasp beside her. She was no stranger to
jewels.. her father had a tendency to send gifts, but this was truley a
beautiful piece. "I can't wait to see that on you Lex..." Regan said,
echoing her mothers own thought. Chaos smirked. "Well that takes care
of the 'something borrowed... I have the something blue..."She said and
withdrew a plain white bag stuffed with tissue paper.
Jasmine shut the velvetine case
and sat it on a near by table. "Ah yes...we have the something new, and
something barrowed covered, and now the something blue?" She prodded
Lex to take the bag, which he did. As he did, he said. "I've got the
something old as well." He held up his right hand. "Dad gave me
Lillian's ring." He hadn't refered to his real mother by mother since
before Faal had vanished
Chaos tried to hide her smirk as
he started to dig into the bag. "Since everything is green and gold, we
didn't want anything blue that would show..." she said and Regan
suddenly remembered what was in the bag and giggled. Chaos shot her a
look. "You do realize that you've been giggling alot lately..?" She
turned in time to see Lex lift the white corset, thong and garter set
from the bag... all trimmed ina delicate pale blue ribbon.
Regan only giggled more. "Weddigs
do that to me." She added, with a smirk. It was Lex's turn to giggle.
"Was the thong really nessesary?" He muttered, blushing slightly. "Of
course!" Regan replied. "After all, you are supposed to definitely be
the bride today." "Yus, I know." Lex muttered. Jasmine sighed, serious
for a moment. "I am sorry, Lex...its just as long as you're here, in
this court, well you'll have to pose as a female...the court would
never accept the marriage other wise." "I know..." Lex muttered. At
that moment, the lady in waiting returned with a tray of breakfast
pasteries and fruites and elvish coffee.
Chaos smirked at Lex's blush.
"You shouldv'e seen the one your sister wanted to get you. I had to
remind her it was for a wedding and black leather was NOT suitable..."
Lex stared at Regan, who just
shrugged as if it were no big deal while munching on a pastery. "I
figured black leather would spice up the honey moon at least." She said
with a brazen grin. jasmine causual cleared her throat. "I don't know
if Faal's told you, you will have to make the occassional appearance in
court, not often, but occassionally, after the wedding." The door
opened again, and Estehl entered. "Ah! Good morning. I thought I heard
Jasmine." he said with a smirk.
Chaos rolled her eyes giving Lex
a push toward the breakfast tray. "Sure Estehl... in otherwords you had
the maid tell you the second we arrived so you could come snoop." She
quickly stuffed the lingerie back into the bag and set it aside.
"Me, snoop, never." Estehl said
with a grin. "Oh what ever." Jasmine retorted and gave her husband a
look. "Aren't supposed to be getting the groom?" "Patients my little
flower." Estehl said, and took out another jewelry box. "A wedding
present, from myself and my sisters." He said, handing the box to Lex.
Inside was a delicate pale gold circlet with an emerald stone.
"Handcrafted by the fairies, upon request." Estehl said with a grin.
Chaos raised an eyeborw. "What?
No tiara?! I'm shocked!" she said with a grin and Lex turned a
horrified look at her. "I'm joking Lex... consider yourself lucky
though.. they could've .."
"I would have...but Estehl
wouldn't let me..." Jasmine said with a pout, turning it on her husband
who'd just taken a grape off the tray. "Leave him some diginity,
Jasmine." He said with a sigh. "Now, I shall go and collect my brother.
Oh, before I forget." Estehl leaned forward and kissed Lex on the
forehead. "Welcome to the family." With that he headed out the door.
"That'll look lovely with the veil." Jasmine said, noddig to hte
circlet. "What viel!?" Lex replied, looking at her. Jasmine snickered.
"Oh you should see the grand court!" Jasmine said, grabbing a cup of
coffee. "All done so gorgeous, the family's colors, plenty of roses..."
Lex sighed and Chaos patted his
shoulder. "Eat your breakfast before your sister eats it all on you."
she said. "You'll need your strength for today.. plenty os smiling and
waving and having your hand kissed.. such taxing work.." Chaos turned
back to Jasmine.. "roses? Plenty of? Please tell you canstill breath
out there right? god I hate the smell of roses when there's too many of
them together..."
"No, just enough for the right
touch. There's jasmine," She giggled, "And cherry blossoms as
well...because some one, said cherry blossoms remind them of the
bride..." Jasmine said with a secretive smirk. "I'm not hungry..." Lex
muttered, staring at the food, Regan didn't take that and shoved a
cream puff directly into his mouth, wiping the access cream off his
cheek and licking it off her finger.
chaos grimaced. "Creampuffs and
pastries.. kind of a rich breakfast... I don't know how anyone can eat
anything that sweet and rich first thing in the morning... at least eat
a bit of the fruit Lex.. trust me, you'll need something in your
stomach or you'll feel ill later on."she gace Regan a light smack on
the back of the head. "Regan.. behave.. attempt to act your age."
"Okay, so Eire's immatureity is
some what rubbing off..." Regan muttered. "So we noticed." Lex muttered
after spitting out the cream puff. He elected for a few pieces of
fruit. "You didn't tell me how Faal's fitting went..." He said to
Jasmine. "It went fine...we had a personal coversation and the grooms
attire is quiet lovely." Jasmine said, looking through her own gowns
having yet to decide whatwear.
Chaos sighed as wondered over to
join her. "Personal conversation' is a scarey term to use on a day like
this.. what about that one. "she said pointing to one of the gowns
Jasmine hadn't gotten to yet.
Jasmine considered the indigo
colored gown. "I just told him, seriously, that I expected him to
behave to day...even if..." Jasmine dropped her voice, so only Chaos
heard her. "We get an unexpected visitor..."
Chaos raised an eyebrow then
sighed, glancing back over her shoulder at Lex, who was nibbling half
heartedly at some fruit. "Right... I suppose he would try... not sure
how he'd get here, but I wouldn't put it past him."She glanced back at
Jasmine with a wry smirk. "I take it he got all 'manly and defensive'
on you when you said that?"
"I didn't exactly tell him who I
think would appear...I just told him not to shed any unnessasery
blood...to which yes, he did get all manly and defensive, but I'm quiet
used to it from Estehl. I can tell you how I expect Ravenscourt to make
an appearance, but if Estehl heard me, he'd have my head...It
seems...Estehl and Faal's uncle...Negellus has gotten wind of this..."
Jasmine said softly, taking the indigo gown out. "I keep tabs on the
duke, for my own reasons..."
Chaos sighed. "Faal would know
who you meant as surely as I do.. and no doubt he's justvas sure he'd
try something.. after all. how could he resist?" Faal had
managed to eat half a bagel and was working on his second cup of
coffee. Since his suit was at the palace 'safe from harm' as Jasmine
had put it, he'd pulled on grey pinstriped slacks and a dark blue
shirt. He'd pulled his hair back into a pony tail since Lex wasn't
here. He figured Someone would be along shortly to get him.. no doubt
that someone had become distracted with the matron of honour along the
way...
"Of course Faal knew who I was
talking about. Or at least about Ravenscourt." Jasmine said. She cast a
glance back at Lex who was having a cup of coffee, and another pastery.
"You should eat more you know." Estehl said, appearing from a
rift. "But then I don't think Lex wasn't eatting much either." He
looked his brother over, with a smirk. "Terribly sorry for beijg late,
I had to drop off the wedding gift from our sisters and I to Lex."
faal finished his coffee and set
the cup in the sink for later. "Yes well.. the knowledge that i'll be
placing myself in their hands today has dramatically decreased my
appetite.. plus I'm nervous as hell." Estehl chuckled. Faal shook his
head, sighing. "I never asked for this you know.. I was perfectly happy
being Faal.... why couldn't you have let me be?"
Estehl looked slightly hurt at
that. He sniffed then said quiet indiginatly, "Well if you'd have
rather I didn't give a damn all those years, just say so now. Would you
rather I go back to the palace and inform that this is off? The civil
ceremony I suppose is enough for you..."
"Yes Estehl, the civil ceremony
WAS enough for AND for Lex... more then enough. I don;t need anything
big and fancy. I didn't need the amount we had for the civil ceremony
as it was! But we wanted our family and friends to share it with us..
even though eloping would have been easier and just as good for
us.."he said and grabbed his brothers shoulder. "and I didn't mean
searching for me, Estehl. Of course you had to search and I'm glad
you did... I'm happy to know I have a family.. especaikly a brother who
care so deeply... " Faal sighed. "I just... never wanted the attention."
"The attention isn't souly
focused on you, Faal." Estehl replied. "Perhaps you could have gotten
away with out all this, if you weren't marrying the daughter of the
seal, but some one blabbed," Estehl had a good idea who, "And so the
court knows there IS still a daughter of the seal. Granted, I've kept
all personal information out of it, but...you kow how fae royality has
always held the daughter, indeed, I rather fear more attention on Lex
then you."
"Forgive me if I still feel the
desire to thumb my nose at them all and just take Lex and go.You were
always comfortable with this stuff, Estehl... the royal brat prince who
would take it or leave as he chose. Even when I was Ellander, I was
never comfortable with it.. I never wanted to be a part of that life...
niether does Lex.." he sighed. "comeon.. I guess we might as well get
this over with..
"You're wrong there, you know...
I never was comfortable with it, under Teliveer. I just did what I did
to insure taking him down..." Estehl said softly. "I played the part
well. After you disappeared, that first time, I never hated anyone so
passionately, it was a wonder I did manage to keep playing the part."
He turned slightly, opening a rift and gestured for Faal to go first.
Faal just shook his head."You
were comfortable with it Estehl. I watched you, as both Ellander AND
Faal...the way you talked to people and accepted the way they spoke to
you... the way you moved. You WERE crown prince... I used to envy you
thta ease you had with everything. Lex's life has been difficult
enough... and now I'm dragging him into the same mess I wanted out of
so badly."
"We'll agree to disagree on the
comfort subject, but perhaps you should talk to Jasmine a bit if you
think I was THAT comfortable with it. Before Jasmine, Jon was my
cofident when I didn't have my brother." Estehl looked at him. "No one
says you have to move back into the bloody palace." He growled.
Faal growled as he went through
the rift. "Oh for crying..nevermind Estehl. Brother's or not, we
obviously still can't held a decent conversation with out you getting
defensive. I was just trying to explain why i was nervous.. wherr's my
damned suit."
Estehl smacked Faal in the back.
"I know you're bloody well nervous! Ya really think I was calm and
collected when I married Jasmine?!" Estehl started to say more, but
Aerieth appeared right in front of them. "Are you two arguing?" She
demanded, her black hair piled high on her head. "No, we were having a
discussion." Estehl replied tartly. Aerieth narrowed her gaze on
Estehl, "Don't take that tone with me, Estehl!" "Aerieth, luv...for one
moment...can ya just leave us brothers alone, hmm?" Estehl asked
cynically. "No." Aerieth replied with the utmost seriousness.
"Move, Aerieth. I have to get
ready....dressing to do, people to meet, torture to forbear..." Faal
said making showing motions at Aerieth.
Aerieth turned her eyes on Faal.
"You as well?!" She hissed. "Don't offend them...they'll make it a
living hell for BOTH of us." Estehl hissed at Faal. Aerieth heard,
huffed, turned on her heel and stormed off. "Oh Terra...now we've done
it..." Estehl muttered, before heading off to the rooms Jasmine had sat
aside with Faal's suit. He hesitated, not evening wanting to open the
door to those rooms, because Jasmine had been cheeky and reopened
Ellander's old rooms.
Faal sighed and hurried after
Estehl. "They've already done that with this second wedding. Besides,
you're the king for Terra's sake.. stand up to them!" Faal gave a sigh
a reached past Estehl and opened the door, pushing past him.
"You're talking about three women
who are all identical to our mother!" Estehl snapped, following Faal.
"Aisleen I can handle...Aerieth and Arcanina..." Estehl shook his head,
before casting a glance around the sitting room that although had been
cleaned and dusted, had not changed since the night Ellander vanished.
Faal stopped, not really seeing
the room. "That's doesn't mean that much to me, Estehl. I don't
remember very much about them,,, mostly I remember you .. some of Jon.
Scattered bits and pieces, most uncomfortable and not very nice..." He
finally looked around the room. His memories of being Ellander focused
mainly on the times with his brother and only a few of those took place
in thios room... even so, it didn't seem very familiar. Surely a place
where he lived for 180 odd yeard should leave more of an impression on
him...
Estehl watched Faal a moment,
then sighed deeply. "Negellus...of course... " He muttered mostly to
himself. Then said quiet sadly, to Faal. "You'd break our mother's
heart if she were alive to hear that...be glad she died of her grief at
loosing you. You were always her favorite." He turned, heading for the
door.
Faal clenched his fists. "It's
not my fault I don't remember everything, Estehl. I never asked for
this. I enough to deal with without your damned guilt trips." He spun
and strode to the curatined alcove that he suspected held his suit and
yanked the curtain back. Sure enough there it was. He began undressing,
angrily yanking off his shirt.
Estehl paused at the door,
glancing back at Faal, then sighed again, leaving the room. Outside in
the hall, he had to pause, casting a glance about the hall, troubled.
He had half a mind to go and tell Jasmine this whole thing was off and
by order of the king, and they were to leave Lex and Faal alone. In
fact, he started in that direction with just that intent...
Faal heard a ripping noise and
looked down at the shirt in his hands. "Damn."He said looking where
he'd torn the silk along one shoulder is his anger. "Lex loved this
shirt..." He suddenly slumped donw onto a nearby chair and wadded the
shirt in his hands, over come with everything. Before he knew it he was
crying and wish he had something heavy and breakable to throw...
Chaos helped Lex straighten the gown, tightening the laces at the back.
Regan was getting her own gown on while her and Jasmine helped Lex with
his. They were currently arguing over the tattoos. "Look, I think we
should hide them. it won't be much, but every little thing to keep Lex
Mordant and Princess Lexine seperate..."Chaos said, stepping back to
eye the gown.
Estehl headed for his wife's
chambers intent to tell Jasmine he'd ordered the entire thing off,
turning the corner, he suddenly stopped dead. A man was speaking with
the royal chamberlin at the other end of the hall. There was a young
man with him, but Estehl's attention was focused on the man, and he was
suddenly clenching both fists.
Lex groaned. "Princess Lexine?!"
"I did tell you," Jasmine said, finishing the lacings, before getting
the box with the jewelry. "Great...just what I ALWAYS wanted to be..."
Lex muttered a touch acidy. Jasmine gave him a stern look and Lex shut
his mouth, then he sighed. "Fine, it wont be the first time I've worn
make up to cover them..." "Good thing I brought the make up." Regan
said.
Faal jerked his head up at a
noise from the door and was startled to see all three of his sisters.
He suddenly realized he was only half dressed and pulled the torn shirt
back on. "Come in..." Chaos left Regan and Jasmine to help Lex and
took her turnat getting ready. Since she'd done her hair and make up
before breakfast it was just a simple matter of getting into her gown.
Regan had just finished Lex's makeup when she finished.
"You act surprised to see us."
Arcanina said, looking over Faal. "Of course we'd be here." Aerieth
added. Only Aisleen was silent, watching Faal. Then she spoke softly.
"Forgive our older sisters, they've become quiet insane..." Aerieth and
Arcanina turned a glare on their younger sister. Aisleen had always
been close to her brothers. She'd been the tomboy of the girls. And she
held her ground, gave a snort. "The only reason this is going on today,
is because you two pressured it. Because 'its what our parents would
have wanted' Well to be perfectly honest, ladies. Our parents are both
dead and you should have thought about what Ellander and his bride
wanted!" She snapped.
Jasmine removed the necklace from
the box and moved behind Lex, placing the necklace around his neck,
fastening it. Regan had retrieved the sheer viel and circlet, the veil
hung low, nearly to the elbows, and with the circlet holding it in
place, looked rather nice.
Faal stood looking at the three
women for a moment and was suddenly overcome with a sudden deep
recognition. He walked over to Aisleen and took her hands in his,
looking into her eyes. "I remember you...I mean.. I knew you all, but.
my memories are fragmented and somewhat ... limited. I didn't have
hardly any memories concerneing you ladies or our mother.. or... but..
I remember you, Aisleen. " Chaos stepped back and looked Lex
over. "Good lord... I thought you couldn't look better then you did the
other day, but Lex honey.. you just keep getting more and more
beauitful."
Aisleen smiled warmly, before
hugging him. "Any time you and Estehl were in trouble, I did what I
could to keep you out of it." She said softly. Aerieth looked slightly
offended but Arcanina just chuckled. "It was Aisleen who got Estehl
relashed from the box." She added. "I suppose that's why our father
married me off the way he did." Aisleen said to her sister. "I was to
willful for him." She turned her eyes back to Faal. "I don't know about
these two, but the only thing that matters to me, is that you're
happy."
Jasmine stepped back as well, and
thought she might cry actually. She sniffled. "She's right Lex...I
don't think I looked as beautiful on my wedding." She said with a smile.
"All brides are beautiful on
their wedding day. " Regan sai, "Lex not only gets two, but one of them
is a fairy tale come true. Jasmine became a queen, Lex is becoming a
princess... mom is sort of already a princess in a fashion... I get
kind of left out.. then again. "she added with a leer. "I'm not married
yet.. who knows who I might come across."
Faal smiled softly, brushing
fingers acrossAisleens cheek. "I'm sorry if I seem ungrateful. I was
never comfortable with being a prince and when I wasn't I was never
comfortable with court life. I only stayed as long as I did from a
combination of the spell laid on me and my friendships... I'm afraid I
blew up at Estehl about all this... I didn't mean too. He is right.. as
are they. "He said nodding to his other sisters. " Whether I remember
it all or even like it, I AM Prince Ellander and LExine Is the daughter
of the seal, and we do have a responsiblity to the court... I just
don't have to like it."
Jasmine spun suddenly as the door
to the room was thrown open and she cringed back, seeing Estehl in a
right vicious mood. "It's off." Estehl growled, storming in. "What?!
Why?!" Jasmine breathed. Lex looked back and forth wide eyed. "Because
I say it is!" Estehl growled, grabbing Jasmine's arm. "Did you know?!"
He demanded. "Know what?!" Jasmine stuttered. "Negellus is here!"
Estehl hissed drawin g her to him. Jasmine paled. "I-I-NO!"
"I can't speak for Aerieth and
Arcanina, they'll have to do that themselves, but I CAN speak for
myself, Estehl and our mother. We've only ever loved you for you."
Aisleen told him. "Of course we have!" Arcanina said her spot with a
laugh. "The family hasn't been the same since you vanished." She told
Faal. "In fact, the three of us hardly spoke...until Estehl came and
told us that he'd found you..." "You were in short, the only thing,
that kept us siblings together, Ellander." Aerieth said softly.
He turned and looked at all three
of them and suddenly memeories burst forth of all of them. As well as
of another woman... Faal felt his eyes fill up and suddenly grabbed
Aerieth and Arcania, pulling them into a grou hug. "Terra.. I remember
you all... I remember mother... damn i'm balling like a baby.. this is
completeing unbecoming of a prince... any of you girls breath a word of
it and i'll dunk you all in the fountain."
Chaos put her self between Lex
and Estehl and the door, Regan moving to bloke Lex as well. "What's
going on.. why is the wedding off and why are you so pissed off?"
Aisleen laughed, espeically at
Aerieth's appaled look. "He'd do it too!" Aisleen laughed. Arcanina
laughed softly. "You always looked best after being half drowned in the
fountian Aerieth." She said. The eldest sister gave them both a look,
looked at Faal, sighed and hugged him back. "One of these days..." She
warned her younger sisters.
Estehl growled. "Why?!" "Estehl,
no!" Jasmine pleaded. "Not here!" She begged, trying to drag him toward
the door. "Do NOT do this to Lex!" "Did you know Negellus is here with
a young man who looks suspeciously like Ravenscourt?!" Estehl demanded
from his wife. "I...had my suspessions..." Jasmine muttered, lowering
her eyes. "NO MORE SECRETS, Jonathan!" Estehl snapped.
Lex inhaled to sharply at the
mention of Rowen and could have sworn the corset's lacings had
retracted with the breath, making it hard to breath. Regan grabbed his
shoulders before he could fall.
Chaos saw Lex swoon and reached
out and smacked Estehl hard across the face. He turned an angry and
stunned look on her. "I don't care if you're the king of the fucking
world. Don't you EVER do something so stupid and careless to my son
again. Get out of this room before I do more then smack you, Estehl."
Faal pulled back from them and
wiped his eyes on his already ruined shirt. "Well..alright then.... If
you ladies will escuse me, I have a wedding to get dressed for. I seem
to missing my second as well.. have any of you seen a dark haired
brooding young man named Saffron?"
Arcanina, who'd been moving
toward the door, spun around, with wide eyes. "Saffron?!" Aisleen
quirked an eyebrow at her sister. "We'll keep an eye out for him." She
said to Faal, while eyeying her sister.
Jasmine grabbed Estehl's arm and
began dragging him toward the door, she took a deep breath, then
sneered. "Outside, Estehl. NOW!" She shoved him through the door as he
it was opened by her fae magic, spoke to Chaos with out looking in her
direction. "I'll take care of this, make sure Lex's is alright." Then
she was out the door still shoving Estehl. Shutting the door behind
her, her hand cracked across his face. "DO NOT EVER do that again! Not
to Lexine!" She hissed. Estehl grabbed Jasmine's arm in a hard grip and
began dragging her down the hall, toward Faal's room. "You have some
explaining to do, Jonathan!" He hissed in her ear. She stompped on his
foot for the use of her real name, but was powerless to keep him for
dragging her on.

Faal waited till the door
closed behind them then quickly stripped out of his ruined shirt,
shucked the slacks and quickly pulled on the wedding suit. The boots
fit perfect and were the most comfortable thing he could remember
wearing. He found a brush still sitting on a dressing table and quickly
brushed out his hair, trying to decide if he should pull it back or
leav. it down... He was aware of a sudden comotion out side his door
and he opened it a crack to see servant rushing past. He caught the
attention of one and she stopped and curtsied. "What's going on?" "
It's the king, your highness... he's in a rage. He was yelling
something about the wedding being called of, but .. surely this isn't
true highnmess? No one has told us.. what do we do?" Faal cursed
silently under his breath. "I'll speak to his majesty.. just carry on
with the preparrations until you are told otherwise. "where was he seen
last?" " Outside the Queen's chambers, your highness.." Faal growled
and ran off down the hall, trying to make his fractured memory
remember which way to go...
It wouldn't have been hard to
find, Jasmine had been able to pull out of Estehl's grasp half way down
the hall and stompped on his foot again, so hard, her heel peirced his
boot. "Stop! Right now!" Jasmine cried. Estehl rounded on her, only
vaguely aware his sisters had come down the hall. "You are NOT doing
this, NOT today, Estehl!" Jasmine growled, amber eyes flashing
dangerously. "Correction, my dear, My word is still law around here!"
"You're going to let a personal vendetta against your uncle ruin this
for Faal and Lexine!?" Jasmine snapped. "As soon as you explain WHY
and HOW you knew Negellus would be here, because I KNOW you knew,
you're taking Lexine out of Ter Nah Nog, and that is an order!" Estehl
growled, snatching at her arm again. Jasmine smacked him hard across
the face again. "I will do no such thing!" She snapped. "What the
bloody hell is going on!?" Aisleen demanded, moving forward from the
other two. "STay out of this, Aisleen, it does not concern you." Estehl
growled warning.
Faal could hear the angry voices
as he rounded the corner and stormed over to them. "Well it sure as
hell concerns me." He took in Jasmine's angry flushed face and the
crushed looking material on her sleeve... and the drak marks on
Estehl's face that looked vaguely like hand prints. "Some one tell me
what the hell is going on. I can't see this still being over what I
said Estehl.. you weren't this angry when you left... and what's this
about Negellus?"
"Tell him, Jasmine!" Estehl
hissed sharply, shoving Jasmine forward. She stumbled right in to Faal,
and spun, glaring coldly at Estehl. "It wasn't my idea, I didn't invite
him!" She cried. "And Ravenscourt?" Estehl sneered. "Well obviously
SOME ONE told HIM!" She snapped. "Needless to say they're both here!"
Estehl replied. "Uncle Negellus would of course be here." Aerieth said
from her spot. "He' s fae, and a relation. Who's Ravenscourt?" She
demanded. Arcanina had turned to look down the hall, and she suddenly
sighed shaking her head, and had a rather good diea who'd 'tipped'
Rowen off. "You're not telling the whole truth, Jasmine!" Estehl
snapped back, knowing she wasn't. Jasmine faulted a split second,
regained her composure and stood her ground. "This wedding is off until
BOTH of them are out of this realm, one way or aother!" Estehl growled.
Faal grabbed Jasmine and pulled
around behind him. "Enough of this, Estehl. I will not stand by and
watch you man handle the queen. The whole palace is a buz with how the
king's gone mad. Now calm the fuck down and tell me what this is
about. Negellus is here with Ravenscourt... fine. Ravenscourt is my
problem, and you and I will deal with our dear uncle. Now why are you
screaming at Jasmine and why do you have handprints on your face.?" Chaos
emerged from the room, Regan staying inside with LEx, Chaos staying oin
the door way. "Because both Jasmine and myself slapped the son of a
bicth, thats why."
Arcanina had spotted exactly who
she was looking for and was moving that was, before grabbing an arm of
Saffron who'd been hidden in a nitch. "Did you tell him?" Arcanina
hissed sharply in Saffron's ear. "No!" Saffron replied with out
hesitation. Arcanina's eyes bore into his and after a moment she let
him go, knowing he was telling the truth. Aisleen glared at Estehl.
"This is ridiculous, Estehl! " "Most agreed." Jasmine snapped from
behind Faal. There came a strained voice from the room beyond, Regan
wouldn't let Lex anywhere near the door but it didn't stop him from
yelling. "For some one who hated Teliveer, you're certianly acting like
him!" Estehl spun at those words, but the aggression had faded. He was
aware of all the eyes on him. With out a word, he shoved past his
sisters, storming off down the hall.
Faal growled, Jasmine, you and
Chaos.. hell, all of you stay with Lexine. Dont let anyone else near
that room. He took of at a run after Estehl. Saffron turned and gave
Chaos a sheepish look. "Sorry I'm late... Estehl picked me up earlier,
but I kinda got .. lost.. " He shrugged and headed for the door
stopping infront of Chaos. "Hi 'mom'.. mind if I see my 'sister'?"
Regan had pushed Lex into a
chair, he'd pulled off the veil and it was clear he'd been crying.
Regan shifted nervously, and glanced at the door as Saffron and Chaos
entered with Jasmine. Jasmine looked furious, but her eyes softened
upon seeing Lex obviously distressed. "Oh no, darling, don't cry."
Estehl had ended up in the one
place he hated more then any room in the palace, the dusty and dark
former study of Teliveer's. He looked about a moment, then began taking
every bit of frustration and rage out on everything with in reach,
trashing the books, upending the tables, he threw a chair through the
terrace window, reminded of the night Ellander and he had witnessed
their father murdering in cold blood
Faal stopped in the doorway as
Estehl destroyed the room, not seeing the carnage, but the room as it
was that night.. something shattered agsint the wall next to him and he
snapped back to the here and now and grabbed Estehl by both shoulders.
"Enough, Man!! Enough! This doesn't help anything! Get a hold of
yourself!" Faal was temped to add his hand print to the others on his
cheek, both to try to calm himn down .. and just because he'd
probably never have the chance to smack the cheeky bugger again, but he
didn't.
"So he's here is he?" Lex
muttered misrably. "Today of all days." "He wouldn't DARE do anything
here, Lex" Jasmine said, trying to keep it from getting any worse then
it was. She was rubbing her arm where Estehl had gripped it. "Should I
go kill him?" Saffron asked. "I can do it really easy, just suck the
life right out of him..." Regan and Chaos both gave him a look and
Saffron trailed off.
Estehl let out a weary laugh.
"IT's never enough!" He muttered, kicking a chair. "He's never really
gone from this...Lexine's right...I spent so long rebelling against
him, and I'm turning in to him." Estehl trailed off, looking around the
room. "I should leave, you know...leave Jasmine in charge and just
go..."
"Don't be a bloody ass, Estehl.
We came here for a wedding and we're damn well having one. Do you want
to kill the bastards before of after?" Faal said. "If you perfer we can
just make the treason annoucem, ent part of the speeches at the
ceremony...."
Estehl snorted. "Can't put him in
the bloody box, I destoryed it...guess we'll just have to kill
'em...kill 'em both..." Estehl sighed, finally sagging, all the
frustration leaving him. "Jasmine'll kill me if we do it before the
wedding...She's gonna kill me anyway." He realized his foot was
throbbing and sagged agains the wall, pulling of his boot, where a
bloody bruise shown on his foot.
Faal stared down at the bruise.
"That's what you get for pissing off the queen. Really Estehl.. you've
known her for 1500 years... you'd think you'd have learned by now the
sort of things not to say or do around her. She's my friend too, and
you've made her my sister... if you've hurt her i'll feel duty bound to
sock you once or twice myself you know." he said calmly. "Aside from
the insinuations that she was involved... which I can't believe
you actually even considered... what else did you say to make her so
angry with her? And Chaos?! "
"I don't quiet recall...probably
making the rather bad mistake of saying Ravenscourt was here, in front
of Lex." Estehl's eyes were looking around the room, thoughtful. Auron
arrived, in time to see the servents whispering amung themselves and
raised an eyebrow as he moved toward the rooms Jasmine had told him
would be used for Lex.
Faal looked at Estehl. "You just
said it? Or you barged into the room screaming it at the top of yoiur
lungs like you were doing in the hall? "He sighed."I 'm sorry Estehl."
Estehl was about to ask what he was sory about when the fist caught him
on the jaw, snapping his head back. "I'm just sick and tired of people
hurting Lex without a second thought. Come on.. we'll have the guards
kep a close watch on our dear uncle and his friend through out the
wedding, if you really want to wait..."
"I wasn't screaming it." Estehl
replied with a pout rubbing his jaw. "And yes, a mistake, I know..." He
muttered, He opened the door to the study, spotted a guard, and
motioned. The man snapped to attention. "Your Captain, I want to speak
to him, now." The guard was already off to get his captain. "This day
better get better." Estehl muttered with a sigh. Auron knocked on the door, concerned now.
Chaos patted
Saffron on the shoulder."Don't worry, Saffron, we'll look after Lex..
why don't you go find the grooms quarters and se if Faal left anything
benhind that he'll be needing.. I know his outfit had gloves with it ..
keep an eye out while your on your way." Saffron hestated, then sighed
and nodded. He turned and headed the way faal had come storming around
earlier and quickly found it byhis fathers pounding on the door.
"Thei're not ignoring you, dad... no one's home."
"What's happened now?" Auron asked, looking at his son. "Er...well from what I gather, Rowen's here..." Auron scowled.
A few moments later, the captain
of the guard, a man named Gallagher, appeared. "You called your
majesty." "I did. I want you men watching Negellus, not openly, but do
not let him or his guest out of your sight, until after the wedding."
Estehl ordered. Gallagher bowed slightly, "As you wish," He cast an
amused glance in Faal's direction, well remembering when Faal had been
a guard.
Faal blinked in surprise at
Gallagher, then gave him a nod and a grin. " 'Captain'... it's been a
while.." he said, remembering Gallagher as a fellow guard who was
always warning him that Jasmine would be the death of him... Saffron
popped the door opena nd took a quick look around. Spotting the gloves
on the table he scooped them up, then noticed a rather decorative sword
and snatched it to. "Come on.. most of the others are with Lex in
Jasmine's rooms." he said and led the way.
"Indeed, although it's a
first to have a fellow guard turn out to be a prince." Gallagher said
with a slight grin. "Orders captain..." Estehl reminded him, although
he was amused. "At once your majesty." Gallagher bowed again.
Hesitated, then bowed to Faal before moving off to make sure Estehl's
orders were filled. Auron followed his son. "We're getting a bit
close to time, aren't we? Pushing it I think." Auron said, glancing at
his gold pocket watch. Saffron snickered. "You go tell the king
that...Course, I suppose if he starts yelling at you, you can handle it
better..."
Auron raised an eyebrow."Estehl
was yelling?" Saffron snorted. "To say the least.. he was yelling about
calling off the wedding too, so we not be late for
anything..." Chaos paced back and forth inside the room until
she saw that she was making Lex nervous, then she slipped out and
resumed her pacing in the hall outside the door, glaring at anyone who
came close
Saffron and Auron came around the
corner of the hall to see Chaos pacing. "Estehl was yelling about
calling off the wedding?" Auron asked his son. "Oh yeah...but I think
Jasmine and Faal might have convinced him other wise. I think...he
stormed off and Faal went after him..." Saffron explained. "Alright,
NOW what's happened?" Auron asked, stopping and looking at Chaos.
She spun and gave a sigh of
relief. "Didn't Saffron tell you?" Saffron shruged ."About Estehl's
tirade and Rowen showing up.. anything else happen while I was gone?"
Chaos smirked as she moved into Auron's arms. "no.. I'm just on edge
and my pacing was upsetting Lex.. I'm glad you're both here. Guess we
should've stopped at the civil ceremony... that one had a happy ending
and went smoothly.."
Auron wrapped his arms around
Chaos. "I'm sure this one will end happily...I don't imagine Faal or
Jasmine letting it be anything but such." He said . "Oh
no...Jasmine's already beat the crap out of Estehl...and if we're
lucky, so did Faal." Saffron said with a rather insane grin. Auron
gave him a look and Saffron grimaced. "I'm going to go find the groom
and give him his gloves...and sword..." Saffron said, saluting them
with the sheathed sword and heading off down the hall.
Chaos chuckled watching Saffron
leave. She turned and looked up with a smile at Auron. "Our boys
certainly are a handful, aren't they?" Faal walked slightly behind
Estehl as they made they way back towards the queens chambers, al be
it slower then neccassary. No doubt Estehl was thinking about facing
Jasmine and chaos again... and Lex and was dragging his feet a bit.
"If they weren't, they wouldn't be our boys." Auron answered with a grin, before stealing a kiss. "Is Lex alright?"
Saffron turned the corner and saw
Estehl and Faal. He winced slightly. "Forgot these." He said, to Faal
holding out the gloves and sword. He moved away from Estehl, just
incase. Estehl shook his head, rolling his eyes. "Relax...I'm not going
to order anyone's death...at least not anyone related to the bride..."
Faal reached out and took the
gloves, but left the sword in Saffron's hands. He slipped an arm around
his shoulders pulling closer so the three men walked side by side.Faal
had a cheeky look on his face as he asked. "Saffron, tell me
something.. did anyone explain to you just what a second is?"
Chaos laughed and kissed Auron. "At least Saffron seems to be a bit
more comfortable with Lex and Faal.. aparently that little chat you
shoved him into having did some good."
"No...Jasmine didn't get that
far..." Saffron was eyeing Faal wearily. Estehl chuckled, as they
turned the corner into the hall out side the queen's quaters.
"He just needed to actually SPEAK to Faal I think..." Auron said, ignoring their appearance for a moment.
Faal chuckled."Do you know
the origin of the best man? A best man was a body guard.. the best
friend whom the groom trusted to guard his back while he set aside his
own weapons for the ceremony... we tend to follow that tradition..
instead of calling him the bestman, we call him the Second in the
tradition of the duel... so not only are you my bodyguard today... but
as the Princess Lexine's brother... if someone or something were to
happen to endanger either of us... you'd have, if not a chance at the
culprit... but a say in their punishment..."
Saffron snorted. "You're talkin'
to the death elemental here...I don't know WHY no one's asked me just
to get rid of Ravenscourt...I could do it easily..." "Ah...but I'm
afraid in this case...it's Lexine's say on who does it." Estehl said,
holding up a finger. Saffron rolled his eyes. "But incase my brother
and I are to busy with our uncle, and Ravenscourt gets to close to
Lexine, I'm sure we can over look it...this time.." Estehl said,
electric blue eyes sparkling. "Now, if you'll excuse me... I must make
some apologies..." He cast a nervous glance in Auron and Chaos'
direction.
Faal gave Saffron's shoulder a
squeeze and leaned over to whisper. "I think both the prince and the
king himself just gave you permission to defend the princess's life by
any means neccassary.. should we be unable to ourselves of course." He
gave a chuckle and left Saffron as he followed his brother. "The sword
is for you, by the way." Chaos say Auron's glance and turned to
see Estehl approaching. She scowled at him. "Are you finished being a
first class ass, Estehl?"
"Admittedly so." Estehl said,
before bowing sweepingly. "My sincerist apologies, Lady Chaos." He
rubbed his jaw, and shot his brother a look, before standing from the
bow. The door to the room opened and Jasmine stepped into the hall,
she'd meant to speak to Chaos, but saw Estehl. Her eyes flashed,
narrowing, but she spoke to Faal. "I'm disappointed you didn't beat the
hell out of him..." Estehl sighed. "I realize I made a gravious
mistake...and there is no excuse for it...but I do beg the queen's
forgivness." He bowed again. Jasmine's hand snapped out and she gripped
his chin, lifting her, eyes still narrowed. "I'll deal with YOU
later..." She hissed.
Faal rocked on his heels and gave
his brother that ' i told you so look'. in a soft sing song voice he
said " You should know better then to piss her off... 1500 years,
Estehl...1500 years..." Fal turned and caught Jasmine's eye. "Did he
hurt you, Jasmine? I promised himI'd have to sock him again if he
had.." He had a mischievious twinkle in his eye.
Jasmine kept a straight face, but
her amber eyes sparkled. "I'm sure I have a bruise on my upper arm now
because of him." She said quiet nobely. "And you wont accept my apology
for that?" Estehl asked with a slight pout. "No." Jasmine replied at
once. "Not yet anyway..." Saffron had buckled the sword to his belt around his tunic and moved up the hall to the rest of the group.
"Would you like me to hold off,
then dear sister?" Faal asked, rather enjoying the uncomfortable way
his brother shifted. After all, even the king couldn't despute the
queen's right for retribution... Chaos was altogether to smug about
the exchange and Auron had that cheeky grin on his face that Estehl
normally wore.
"Do you think the court would
frown if the King was sporting a few bruises himself...possible a
swollen cheek, or black eye?" Jasmine asked, her face still impassive
but her eyes sparkling more. "Shall I through myself at your mercy, my
queen?" Estehl asked in a soft tone. "You can try..." Jasmine said in a
sing song tone. And that was exactly what Estehl did. He got down on
his hands and knees at her feet, lifted her gown enough to get to her
slippered feet and began kissing them. Jasmine looked scandlized. If
any of the severent happened upon this, there'd be gossip. Estehl
glanced up at her, the cheeky grin returning and he began kissing up
her legs. "Estehl!" Jasmine shrieked, breathless, shoving her gown back
down. "Get up! Don't do that!"
Faal chuckled and Chaos and Auron
were trying not to make too much noise so as not to bring the whole
castle down on them. Saffron was apparenlty trying to look every where
but at them. Faal gave a mock pout. "Damn .. does this mean i don't
gte to hit hi again?"
"Hit him, hit him! Just for the
cheekiness of it!" Jasmine cryed, smoothing down her gown. She
remembered what she came out into the hall over, although her cheeks
were burning. She took a breath. "The bride wants to know if the
wedding is in fact called off," She cast a dark glare at Estehl who
winced.
Fal chuckled and made a swing at
Estehl who winced and turned his head away, but at the last minute,
Faal turned his hand and smacked up on the back oif the head instead.
He had a huge cheeky smirk on his face when Estehl turned to glare at
him, one hand going back to rub at his head. "Yes,,, the groom would
like to heat the answer to that as well."
Estehl snatched Auron's
watched from his hand and looked at the time, while still glaring at
Faal. "You've got fifteen minutes. Inform the bride as well." He said,
to Jasmine. "Well then I suggest, your majesty," She added the last two
words sarcastically. "you'd get dressed..." SHe pointed down the hall,
like a mother sending her child to his room. "Of course, my queen."
Estehl bowed to all of them. "Excuse me." He said before moving off
down the hall. Jasmine turned to go back into the room to see Regan had
convinced Lex to reapply the make up he'd ruined with crying.
chaos sighed, pushing away from
Auron. "I guess I'd better get in there to. You two." she said pointint
to Auron and Saffron. "Get him away from here... he's not supposed to
see the bride, remember?" She slipped inside the room, careful not to
open the door to far.
"You heard her." Saffron said,
grabbing one of Faal's arms, Auron grabbed the other. Jasmine was still
blocking the sight as she waited for Chaos, and gave Faal a look. "Get
going, get to the thrown room." She ordered, pointing again, though she
looked amused. Regan HAD gotten Lex to redo the make up and was
picking up the veil and circlet. "Everything decided then, wedding on
or off?" She asked her mother. Lex was still sitting in the chair by
the window, looking at his hands, in his lap.
"On... the king has told us to
get our asses moving, we have fifteen minutes." She laughed taking hold
of Lex's hands and pulling him to his feet. She tilted Lex's chin up so
she could look him in the eye. "Your husband apparently beat up a king
for you, my dear." She chuckled." And he, your father and your brother
seemed to be rather.. comraderly at the moment. Let's not let that go
to waste."
Lex blinked a few times, then
giggled nervously. "Right..." He muttered, before Regan was putting the
veil and circlet back on him. "Okay, now relax...you're ready...we just
wait." She said, before pushing Lex back in the chair. Lex giggled
again. The thrown room was almost packed with people. It was
beautifully decorated. From the large double doors to the twelve steps
of the dias to the throwns a red velvet carpet had been laid. Estehl
had changed quickly, accepted his crown from the master chamberlin and
left the anti chamber, to catch Jasmine coming out of her own, and
together they mounted the steps. Gallagher had his most trusted guards
watching Negellus and Rowen who were in the back of the room for the
moment. "Six minutes to show time..." Jasmine whispered, as they seated
themselves. "I forgot to mention, I've never done a wedding before."
Estehl whispered back. Jasmine rolled her eyes.

Faal had straightened his suit,
and still hadn't decided what to do with his hair.. it didn't look
right pulled back, but something was missing. Saffron leaned against
the wall watching him in front of the mirrio. "Stop primping, already,
you look fine." Auron sent Saffron a lok but chuckled. Saffron raised
an eyebrow at his father."What? He is and he does.. Hey.. dude.. you're
a prince right? Dont you have like .. a crown or something?"
Faal smacked his forehead. "YES!! That's what loks wrong." "Yes,
that's what's missing." The men turned to see Aisleen standing just
inside the door, triwling a cirle of gold around her finger.
"It was collecting dust in
Mother's room." Aisleen said, coming into the room , flipping the
circlet up right, and holding it out to Faal. She looked him over with
a slight smile. "You've got four minutes to get into place..."
Faal accepted the band of cool
metal and slipped it on, leaving his hair to fall loos about his
shoulders. He slipped his gloves on, grabbed Aisleen int a hug, kissing
her cheek. "thank you. "We'll blame Estehl for not giving it to me
earlier. "He said with a wink and headed out the door. "Saffron..I hope
you still have those rings.."
"Gott'em right
here!" Saffron said, holding up the ring box with a grin, before
following Faal toward the door Auron a step behind them. Aisleen
watched Faal with a smile, and a shake of her head, before following.
Auron broke from them, heading for the bride's room. Lex was now
the one pacing as Regan had announced three minutes to go. The heels of
the boots clicked on the marble tiled floor, and the gowns train turned
with each step.
Faal , Saffron at his side left
Auron at the door to the throne room and walked towards the base of
the thrones, to wait for the bride.. Faal dutifully smiled and
nodded to the gathered nobles as they walked past. Auron kept
watch for a moment then headed back down the hall in search of the
bride...
It wasn't hard to spot Negellus
or Rowen in the crowd, the two had broken apart, moving to different
areas of the room. Saffron tried to keep an eey on Rowen, noticng he
seemed to be heading toward the exit. "Ready for this?" Estehl asked
softly as Faal reached the steps of the dias. Auron arrived at the
door of the bride's room and knocked polietly. Regan answered. "Hi
dad!" She said with a grin before kissing his cheek and letting him
into the room. Auron had to stop in the door way, seeing Lex in the
gown. After a moment he had to shake his head. "If that image doesn't
floor Faal, I don't know what will." He said with a slight smile.
Chaos chuckled."From what I hear
he almost didn't survive the last wedding... this one could be
interesting." She gave cheeky smirk as they all stood. "REady to go?"
she asked. Faal nodded to Estehl. "Yes... I ssuppose it's a good
thing Negellus decided to reappear with Rowen today.. the touch of
danger should keep my knees a tad sturdier this time 'round. "he said
with a smirk.
"Good, cause we don't need you
fainting." Jasmine added from her spot with a smirk. She looked the
part of a queen, in the queen's crown, seated regally next to Estehl.
Nobody in the court was the wiser to her secret, and the same would be
for Lex.
Lex took a deep breath, he was
surprised no one else heard the pounding of his heart. "Yus..." He
answered softly. Auron offered his arm. "I'm off to the thrown room."
Regan said with a giggle, heading for the door.
Faal blushed slightly and
chuckled. "No. I shall not faint. Saffron will poke me with his sword
if I do,." Saffrom over heard this and gave a wicked grin.
"Gladly." Auron linked Lex's arm in his and Chaos took the lead.
She held her breath as the doors opened before them and they entered
the throne room * please Rowen.. not until after... don't fuck this
up..*
Every head in the room turned
in the direction of the doors as it opened. Estehl stood from his
thrown, his hand resting on his sword, as was a nervous habbit. He had
to admit the bride looked very beautiful. For a minute, he wasn't sure
it WAS Lex... He cast a glance at Faal. Even Saffron was awed. Lex
did the only thing he could to keep walking, he focused entirely upon
Faal, one hand holding the gown up enough to keep from tripping.
Faal's eyes locked on Lex the
second he entered the room. He smiled watching his slow progress donw
the ailse, hearing the muters oos and ahhs from the people seeing their
princess for the first time. He tried not to be overwhelmed this time.
Rowen was in this room with them and who knows what he might do...
but he still felt a tad light headed at the sight.
IT seemed to take forever, but
finally Auron was again placing Lex's hand in Faal's before moving off
to stand with Chaos and Regan, who leaned against her father on one
side. Estehl cleared his throat. When he spoke it was with the
authority of a king. "We have gathered here, today, to see the union of
Prince Ellander and the Daughter of the Seal, Lexine. If there be a man
with in this room, with reason why these two should not be wed, let him
speak now." There came the pause, Estehl's eyes sweeping commandingly
over the crowd almost daring Rowen to speak up. Lex had to look at the
stairs praying Rowen wouldn't. Jasmine had her fingers crossed behind
her back.
Faal saw Rowen look across the
room at them and he locked eyes with him. He was sure Saffron was
staring at him with the same intensity. Daring him to make some
move. Chaos squeezed Auron hand tightly as the silence streched
out, wondering what Rowen was waiting for..
Rowen smirked deviously, but
other wise kept his mouth shut. Estehl continued. "This union is not to
be taken lightly. The vows are the ultimate in promise, can not be
broken. Once you are husband and wife, it is a contract of life, till
death do you part." He cleared his throat, did his best to bite back
the smirk and said. "Do you, Prince Ellander, take Lexine to be
your...wife from here until the end of eterinity?"
Faal let his gaze leave Rowen,
knowing the Saffron's was glued to the man, and looked into Lex's eyes.
"I do." he said, his voice strong and sure, carrying clearly,
completely unlike the last wedding when he barely had a voice at all.
Estehl turned slightly to
Lex. "Do you, Lexine, take Ellander," Only Estehl, Faal and Jasmine
heard Lex softly correct him on the name with a slight smile, which
only made Estehl smile more, "as your husband, from here until the end
of eternity?" "I do." Lex answered, looking into Faal's eyes. "The
rings." Estehl said, holding out a hand to Saffron who had them ready
with out hesitation. "The ring is an eternial symbol, symbolizing the
promise of the vows." Estehl handed the smaller ring to Faal first.
Faal took Lex's hand and held the
ring in his fingers, pausing before slipping it on. "With this ring, I
take you, Lexine ,my eternal flame, as my wife." he said and slipped
it on his finger. Feeling the hand tremble in his as he did so. He
glanced up to see Lex smiling, trying not to cry and wash the make up
away.
Estehl smiled, then handed the
second ring to Lex, who was slightly afraid his hand was shaking to
much to hold the ring, but managed to do so. He had to take a deep
breath, before saying. "With this ring, I take you, Ellander," Then
whiserped, "Faal, as my husband." He looked up from sliding the ring
onto Faal's finger. There was the sound of a sword being drawn, and
Estehl held his blade aloft over them and said in a clear voice. "It is
my pleasure, and duty as King of Ter Nah Nog, to annouce you husband
and wife, Prince and Princess. You may kiss the bride."
Faal's smile grew until he
thought his face must split wide open as he reached out and lifted away
the gossamer viel, laying it so it flowed down Lex's back. He tilted
his face up and smiled down into the beautful eyes he loved so much
before kissing his bride to a thunderous applause.
Lex hardly heard the applause
really, to caught up in Faal's kiss. Estehl sheathed his sword,
stepping back to the couple and glanced back at his wife, who was
beaming at him. Jasmine crooked a finger at him and Estehl obeyed,
leaning down over his wife, where she kissed him, before whispering.
"For not having done that before, very nicely done, my dear."
Faal broke the kiss slowly,
looking in his eyes as he pulled back. "See? All done.. a few hours of
hobnobbing with some stuck up snobs and we're home free."He whispered
in his ear, kissing the ear as he did so." he stood up, Turn and smile
to your court, Princess." He said, turning to face the crown, Lex's
hand held in his own as he bowed his head slightly to the gathering.
Lex managed a smile to the court,
although he did feel clausterphobic with so many eyes upon him. "Anyone
other then you ever call me Princess again out side this court, and
they may find themselves a bit hot under the collar..." Lex muttered,
inclining his head from the crowd with a smile, before looking up at
Faal.
There was suddenly a break
and a hush in the back of the crowd, and they began to part. There
stood Rowen, at the end of the red velvet carpet, a sword in his hand.
"As wonderfully romantic as this is, I have to interject, on the
Princess' behalf of course." Rowen said casting a wicked smirk in Lex's
direction. Somewhere to the left of the throne, Jasmine caught sight of
Negellus smirking. "So on the Princess Lexine's behalf, I challenge
you." Rowen added, his look shifting to one of fury. Saffron had
already began drawing his sword, moving down the stairs.
Faal reached out and blocked
Saffron's way. Saffron loked up at him confused." But I though... isn't
it.. aren't I supposed to fill for you?" Faal nodded. "Yes, but I
think i'd like to shove tradition aside and handle this myself, if you
don't mind." he asked, holding his hand out for the sword. He glanced
over at Lex. "And if you don't mind... would be quicker and a lot less
messy if Saffron didtake this challenge on my behalf.. but it wouldn't
be near as satifying... give the word, wife."
Lex looked from Saffron, to
Rowen, and finally Faal. He reached over and touched Faal's cheek.
"Just don't get hurt..." He said softly, there was no way he could stop
this now, and part of him didn't want to. Estehl had moved down the
stairs a bit, glaring at Rowen. "If you want this duel, you'll do it
honorably. This is my court." Estehl announced, before holding up a
hand, there was an electric blue current and Estehl sapped Rowen of any
extra abilites and weaked his elemental control, making it an even
match. Rowen sneered, but didn't protest. He always arrogantly believed
he was a surperme swords man.
Faal took his hand and kissed his
fingers before turning and accepting the sword from Saffron. "If he
beats me, you can kill him later."He said with a grin and a wink, and
turned to face Rowen. "You have no call to challenge me on the
rpincess's behalf.. you had your chance to speak up during the wedding
and you chose to for go that.. but I will gladly accept your challenge,
Rowen Ravenscourt.."
Rowen gave a mocking bow, sword
held at ready, never taking his eyes off Faal, a rather frightening
smirk on his face, before he was walking forward, still holding the
sword loosely. Lex had second thoughts before he could open his mouth,
Jasmine pulled him up the dias to stand next to her. "Faal'll do
fine..." She whispered reassuringly. Saffron stood next to Estehl. With
in range of Faal, Rowen spun the sword around, getting a better grip on
it and taking a stance, honorably waiting until Faal had taken his own
place.
Faal stopped in front of Rowen.
"You have a rather extravagant way of commiting suicide, Ravenscourt,
I'll give you that. But I thank you for the opprtunity at last where
Lexine can't stop me from getting rid of you .. as well as helping to
bring my treacherous uncle out into the open where he can be taken care
of." he said and gave a little bow, his eyes darkening from their
normal pale rainbow.
"Well, I'm sure some one's
funeral will come out of this." Rowen remarked evenly, then struck,
lunging in with the sword, only to fienge and bring the blade upward,
to slice at Faal's chest. Some of the ladies of court gasped. "Rather
it's yours or mine is left unseen, don't you think?" Rowen asked with a
sneer.
Faal doged back in time to avoid
the blow bringin his sword up to slam Rowens blade aside twisting back
to swipe at him. Faal chuckled, his eyes growing steadily darker.
"What.. do you think that because i'm temporarily power less that i'm
an easy target?? I simple prince who has spent his life at leisure
playing with swords ..? My dear boy.." He said and let into a furious
series of blows and had rowen backing and parring across the
cirle.." I have lived almost 1700 years of my life as a guard,
swordsman and guardian... I think you were gravely misinformed of your
chances against me."
"I'm hardly worried." Rowen
replied with a brazen smile, lunged forward again, bringing his sword
around at sword height, drawing it down ward, as he wanted, his blade
slid down Faal's, hand guard to hand guard and Rowen slid his foot
forward, throwing his weight behind the blade and sliding his leg into
Faal's postion knocking him back ward with a simple but dirty trick.
Dancing backward, he made another mocking bow.
Faal smiled grimly and returned
the mocking bow. He traded a few more blows with Rowen, watching his
eyes, starting to get a feel for his movements. "Let me guess.. you
and my uncle has a plan.. a secret weapon I suppose?." Faal saw the
twitch in Rowen's eye that he seemed to do when he was going to fient
and waited for the move. Suddenly the blad was coming in high and Faal
ignored it, taking taking his own in low. Sure enough Rowen's
blade caught his, but not before Faal's blade had taken a small nick
form Rowen's thigh. Faal grinned wickedly. "First blood, Ravenscourt.."
"Touche." Rowen replied, still
grinning. "And incidently, there is no secret weapon," Rowen made a
move, similar to his last, allowing Faal to fall into the step, to
prevent the fient, then Rowen turned, sliding around behind Faal,
slicing at his back, drawing his own blood. "I'm merely buying him
time..." He added in a gleeful hint. Negellus had vanished from the
crowd, Estehl was already trying to search him out and he turned, about
to order Saffron to remove Lexine, however to his horror, he found
Negellus on the dias, sword in hand and aimed at Lexine, another of his
uncle's henchmen holding Jasmine at sword point as well. "Negellus..."
Estehl growled, starting to draw his sword. "Uh uh, not that,
Estehl..." Negellus said with a wicked smirk, holding his sword a
little higher, tip near Lexine's throat.
Faal's eyes suddenly went dark ,
a mass of chaotic colour and he chuckled. "Thank you Ravenscourt. I was
waiting for you to do something like that." Rowen looked stunned.
"Faal yelled over his shoulder at Negellus. "Hello uncle.. so nice to
see you again. As you can see, you're spell to make me vanish all those
years ago wasn't quite as lasting as you'd hoped." He took advantage of
Rowen's confusion and supposed victory to whip his sword up and across
his throat. "Dear Brother... I believe it's your turn now.. as you can
see, both the king and myself are unable to defend your sister..." Faal
watched Rowen sink slowly to his knees, his hand to his throat and a
shocked espression on his face. A faint rainbow shimmered into being
around Faal as he waited for the sword to drop from Rowen's fingers."As
you can see... I lied about the state of my abilities.. I'm not quite
as helpless as we've let on...Goodbye Ravenscourt."
There was still a look of
disbelief on Rowen's face as he fall over, the life fleeing his eyes as
the blood ran from the wound. Estehl turned his attention back to
Negellus, drawing his sword, and starting forward. "No no, Estehl."
Negellus replied, unperturbed by Rowen's death. "It would be a shame to
spill the bride's blood on her wedding day, because you made a
mistake..." He said. "What is it you want, Negellus?" Estehl
questioned, his voice calm and collected, despite the way his eyes
flashed, an even more unnatural electric blue. "The crown, hand it to
me, Estehl, and I'll consider releashing your queen."
Faal turned and faced the dais he
smiled darkly to Saffron and tilted his head toward's JAsmine. Then he
smiled to Lex. "Princess... Love of my life... why don't you ..
'explain' to my uncle why i call you my eternal flame.. I don;t think
he gets the referrance."
Lex had been looking at Rowen's
body until that moment, and he raised his eyes, fire already dancing in
his eyes. Negellus had turned his eyes back to Lexine, and raised an
eyebrow as Lex slowly raised a hand, his fingers touching the blade of
the sword at it's tip at his throat. For a moment, Negellus was
slightly confussed, but he didn't have to even consider what was
happening, when the flames errupted along the blade spread unusually
fast and even as he dropped the blade, the flames were already cirlcing
and snaking up his arm to quickly for him to stop. They spread,
unnaturally fast, starting to cover him as he stumbled down the dias.
His henchman was momentarily stunned, but that didn't last long,
because he found one of Saffron's own blades impaling him from behind,
asSaffron had shifted and warped behind him. Jasmine had moved back,
between the throwns. Lex was still controlling the fire that was
consuming Negellus, although it had a blue-ish tent to it. Negellus
with the thought to take out the daughter of the seal, growled, and
attempted to rush forward again, but was stopped by two sword points,
Estehl behind one... And Faal behind the other. He smiled grimly down
at his uncle, ignoring the flames. as they danced over his uncles body.
The two brothers stood with their treacherous uncle between their
swords. Jasmine moved to stand beside LEx, who's eyes glowed with green
fire. Saffron stood slighly behind the two women alert for any further
theat. Chaos, Auron and Regan watched fomr their places... "I belive
the king has something to say...does he not? Faal glanced at Estehl, a
smile tugging the corners of his mouth.
Estehl's eyes were hard. He'd
waited many years to end this. "Teliveer's tyrany died with him, and
I'll be damned to hell, before I hand this crown over to anyone other
then my heir. I hear by strip you of your title, Duke of Ter Nah Nog,
and proclaim you a traitor to the crown and your people. If I thought
you'd survive, I'd have you bound in iron, until another Obsidion Box
could be made," Estehl suddenly smiled wickledly. "But I don't think
you're going to survive..." He glanced at Faal. "He took many years of
your life Ellander, the kill is your, if you wish it."
Faal let a wicked smile grow over
his face just to watch his uncle's face pale. "No, your majesty. I
don't want his life.. it's worth nothing to me.I don't feel he took my
life... he inadvertantly gave it to me... without his spell I never
would have taken the paths I did and I never would have found
Lexine."He turned, his sword point still nestled against Negellus back.
"I think his life more belongs to them. .." he waved at the crowd of
nobels, "And to you and our sisters.., because he stole me from all of
you... But he didn't just steal a prince... his doing so killed a
queen...."
Estehl didn't even hide his
devious smirk. He turned slightly, searching out his sisters in the
crowd and was unsurprised to see Aisleen step forward with a slender
sword. Aisleen, who looked exactly like their mother. "Do you chose to
speak for everyone, Aisleen?" He asked, he noticed Lexine was keeping
the flames from killing Negellus just yet, but did slow him down.
"Indeed, I do." Aisleen replied unafraid. She turned her eyes on her
uncle. "This sword, was our mothers...you didn't know that, did you
Negellus? She was fairy decent, and trained to fight with a blade."
Aisleen walked foward. "You've brought shame to this family.' She spun
the blade, held it out by the hilt and sneered. "Use it, to do the
honorable thing." She did not move until Negellus had taken the sword
and instead of turning her back, stepped back, not about to give him an
opening. Estehl looked back at his uncle. "The choice is yours,
traitor. Die by your own hand, OR MINE."
"And mine." Faal said, then noded
to Lex. "And hers...There's no shortage of people waiting for a stab at
you ..literally." Aisleen narrowed her eyes as she stared at her uncle
and slowly the same wicked gleam that filled her brothers eyes filled
hers and th corners of her mouth twicthed upward. The room was silnet
as everyone waited for Negellus to make his decission...
Negellus growled fighting to his
feet. "I will not die by my own hand." He hissed, and made the mistake
of trying o shove past Estehl to get to Aisleen who merely stepped back
having expected this. It was hard to tell which caused Negellus to
scream in pain, being run through from the front, the back, or the
sudden bright orange flair of the flames. Estehl hadn't been about to
let Negellus win and had stepped forward with the thrust from the front
as Lex had upped the flames.
Faal looked up, keeping his
uncle pinned between their swords. "Azreal.. if you would be so kind ?
My uncle is the stubborn sort...." Saffron looked morbidely
gleeful. "Oh, with pleasure, your highness." He moved down the stairs
from his place, grabbed Negellus by the hair jerking his head up.
Saffron's eyes turned competely black, he releashed Negellus' hair only
long enough to grab his face in both hands and before the entire court,
began draining the life out of Negellus, who slowly began to turn grey
and dry, a corpse before all eyes. When it was over Saffron let go,
stepping back, and shaking his hand, with a sniff. "Damn, Fae do take a
bit to kill don't they..."
Faal raised an eyebrow.
"Consider the company you keep before making such staements, Azreal.
"Estehl said, the corner of his lips twitching slightly. Faal withdrew
his sword then glanced over at Rowen. "Would mind checking on him as
well? He's been dead before after all..." Faal asked Saffron with a
slight shrug before he wiped the sword blade off on his uncles jacket.
"Oh no, no problem at all."
Saffron made his way toward Rowen's body. Several people moved out of
the way, appearently not having realized before this, that they had the
death elemental in their company. Lex had had to collasp in
Jasmine's throne from the stretch of power, feeling drained, he'd
vanquished the flames before they could spread. Jasmine was standing at
his side one hand on his shoulder while watching Estehl and Faal with a
bit of pride in her eyes. Saffron crouched beside Rowen, took a
wrist, detected a faint heart beat and growled. "No, you don't..." He
grabbed Rowen's face with his other hand, and drained the remainder
life out of him. With two powerful life forces drained, he'd be on a
high for days. Rowen's body became a shrivled and grey corpse like
Negellus'
Faal sighed in relief as he
saw Rowen dead at last, and had to fight against the urge to release
the powers he's gathered around him. He pulled them tighter and turned
to face Saffron as he walked towards the two brothers. He bowed. "Thank
you for you assistance, brother." Faal said, pretending to ignore the
murmurs that crept through the crowd. It would be a long time before
anyone tried against the royal family again after the show today,
especailly with the death elemental as a part of it... "I believe my
wife and I would like to rest for a bit before any more festivities if
you don't mind?" He asked turning to the crownd who chuckled and
murmurred their assent, then turned to his brother. "Majesty?"
Estehl chuckled, turned his
eyes to the dias, where Jasmine stood still beside Lex, beaming. "By
all means, I think we can grant a few hours." He said, turning back to
look at Faal. He made a grand gesture for Faal to carry on, before
announcing to the court. "I think it'll be an evening celebration, say
dusk?" No disagreed. "Dusk it is." That would leave Faal and Lex most
of the day. Jasmine couldn't restrain herself any more and she was off
the dias in a few running steps before throwing herself at Estehl as
he'd turned around, kissing him. Estehl was caught momentarily by
surprise at the very public show of affection that Jasmine usually
didn't display, but over came that surprise to wrap his arms around her
and kiss her back deeply.

Faal was up the steps and at
Lex's side as quickly, kneeling beside the throne. "Lex, my
flame...can you walk or shall I make another grand gesture and carry
you off?"
Saffron snorted at the two couples then started towards his family when Alandra pushed her way through the crowd.
Lex smiled
wearily. "I could get down the stairs, and that's about it, so I guess
you'll have to make another grand gesture." He said, before seeing
Alandra.
Saffron had started to turn to
walk off, when he heard. "Saffron!" She'd been in the crowd the entire
time, how he'd missed her was beyond him, he turned, just in time to
catch her as she flung herself at him, he grinned lopsidedly holding
her by the waist, and kissed her.
Estehl had broke the kiss with
Jasmine in time to see this and glanced toward the door of the anti
chamber, not surprised to see Sands standing there, smirking. Sands
saluted his father without a word and left through the anti chamber
door. Estehl couldn't help it, he began laughing, which only increased
with Jasmine's curious expression.
Faal scooped Lex up into his
arms and turned to look at his brother, standing in the middle of the
throne room, Jasmine in his arms, laughing. He smiled and chuckled,
hefting Lex a bit higher as he turned and left the throne room, heading
for his own chambers. His head felt suddenly overflowing with things he
could suddenly remember, and he could feel a headache coming on from
the final release of the spell brought on by his uncle's death, but
right now he just felt happy and content.
Before he knew it he was at the
door to his rooms and he kicked them open, rather then release even a
small amount of the magic around him to open it. He kicked it closed
from the far side and went straight to the bed where he gently set Lex
down before collapsing beside him. With a sigh he released the magic and
felt the energy Estehl had managed to help him gain slip away. It had
taken all of his engery to hoard it and let it build so he could put on
this one show... thank the gods it had worked. "Well... now everyone
sees me as a force to be recond with, and you as well... we should be
safe for a while." He said and rolled over to lay staring at his brides
face. "I don't know whether i shoud be proud of myself for acting so
'Estehl like' or horrified... but it worked..."
Lex reached over, pushing a lock
of Faal's hair from his face while smiling. "Proud I should think...and
it wasn't Estehl-Like as you put it...it was just simple you...My
prince."
Faal grimaced. "Ouch... Am I
really that.. cheeky and mercenary?" he thought back to a few incidents
in their past, especailly those that required him to rescuse or
protect Lex...
"Yes I suppose I can be when it
comes to protecting you." he turned and pulled him closer. "Princess
Lexine Mordant Errin, Princess of Ter Nah Nog, and Daughter of the
Seal.... you looked more breath takingly lovely than I can ever put to
words. The style and colour suits you..." He trailed his fingers over
his cheeks and across his lips. "How do you feel?"
Lex sighed, although he was still
smiling. "It takes a lot to hold those flames from burning, on some one
else anyway...a little exhausted but..." He slid his fingers over
Faal's cheek. "Never been happier..." He said softly. He sighed
contentedly. "How I love you..."
Faal chuckled and turned to kiss
Lex's hand. "I'm exhausted and deleriously happy as well... but thats
not what I meant.. Rowen is finally dead..."
"Oh that..." Lex sighed,
rolling his eyes. "What can I feel? He tortured me for so long in
anyway he could think of...Admittedly, when Estehl said he was here, I
was afraid, afraid of what he might do...or say...Now that he's gone,
it's like...I can finally let go of that part of my life..."
Faal chuckled. "See? Now wouldn;t
it have been so much easier, albeit less showy, if you'd let me kill
him the first time I met him?"
"I don't know...maybe it was
meant to end that way..." He trailed a finger down Faal's neck. "And
what about you? Now that your...uncle's dead...how do you feel?" He
asked, looking in Faal's eyes.
Faal smiled softly. "I feel
nothing for his death. I meant what I said, if he hadn't cast the spell
I never would have met you... As for the result of his death... my head
feels like its about to explode with all the memories that are suddenly
mine again... I suppose I should be very glad I was so young when he
cast it.. if this is what 180 years of memories feels like,. i'd hate
to have any more crammed in here. I suppose I feel relief... Estehl and
the girls have some measure of peace now...."
"And you have your family back."
Lex said softly, there may have been the slightest touch of sadness to
his smile. "Tell me something...which do you perfer now, Ellander, or
Faal?" He asked, his voice a little softer.
Faal chuckled. "Lexine, my love..
I was Ellander for 180 years... I've been Faal forover 1600.. Memories
and true identity aside.. I am still and always will be Faal."
Lex leaned forward, and kissed
him tenderily. "Good," He whispered. "Because you'll always be Faal to
me." He brushed his lips over Faal's again, closing his eyes, a soft
content smile on his own lips.
Fal chuckled and returned the
gentle kiss, then cuddled Lex closer, brushing his lips over his
forhead. "We have a few hours respite from the mob, my love. Rest and
regain your strength. The first battle shall no doubt be with our
sisters when they see how horribley we've wrinkled our wedding
clothes..."
Lex's eyes were still closed, but
he smirked slightly. "Oh, I think we can handle that...certianlly
couldn't be nearly as hard as Rowen and Negellus, could it?"
"hmm.. " Faal closed his eyes, a
smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. "You say that only because
you have not tousled with my sisters before... but you shall get off
easy.. yours is merely wrinkled.. I've gone and had mine sliced and
spattered with blood... which I am now getting all over my sheets...I
shall never be forgiven." he chuckled softly, hugging Lex closer.
Lex giggled softly. "Perhaps I'll
have to be like Jasmine, and put my foot down with them." He said
softly, curling in closer to Faal.
Faal chuckled harder. "Perhaps,
you are certainly spirited and stubborn enough to match them
seperately." he kissed Lex's hair above the circlet crowning his head.
"Sleep now.. we have a busy evening and then tomoorrow I whisk you away
on our honeymoon. We can leave straight from here... I had your sister
pack some things for you."
Lex suddenly laughed at that,
opening his eyes to look at Faal, even if Faal's eyes were closed. "Oh
no...you have no idea do you..."
Faal chuckled. "Hmmm more then
you know." he cracked one eye open and gave Lex a wink before kissing
Lex's forehead. "I look forward to seeing Regans' choices on you ..."
Lex shook his head, bemused, and
leaned forward to kiss him again. "I'm sure you are...I love you..." He
added in a whisper, on the verge of drifting off to sleep now.
Faal cuddled closer, resting his cheek against the soft hair. "I love you too, princess."
**
Jasmine leaned against him. He
wrapped his arm around her waist, kissing her on the top of her head.
Saffon and Alandra were near one of the tall windows, and Estehl was
watching them covertly. Auron, Chaos and Regan were near by, speaking.
The bodies had been cleared after the chamber was emptied of guests.
The severants were sitting up for the evening celebration. Estehl
looked about the throne room, then reached up and removed his crown,
looking at it with a bemused expression.
"What are you smirking about?"
Jasmine asked, turning her eyes up to Estehl. "I was just thinking,
about how this all turned out." Estehl replied. "It's rather
amusing..." "Oh?" Jasmine inquired. "Yes...do you know...if it hadn't
been for what Lexine said back there...about me being like Teliveer..."
Estehl shook his head.
Jasmine stroked her fingers donw Estehls cheek. "you're nothing like Teliveer..."
Estehl chuckled softly, still
fingering the crown. "I almost was...I was almost ready to ruin their
happiness today, because of a petty personal vendetta...so like
Teliveer..."
Jasmine sighed running her
fingers over his lips until he looked down at her. "I don't believe
that. I think you would've have stopped yourself in time." *
Saffron glanced out the window,
his arms around Alandra, then turned and glanced at the people still in
the room. He was struck by the sudden thought that this was his family.
He noticed the bemused look on Estehls face and suddenly felt a similar
one of his own...
Alandra turned her eyes from
the window to look at Saffron. "What's the grin all about?" She asked.
Saffron shrugged, the smirk still in place and he looked at everyone.
"Just thinking..." he turned and looked nto her eyes. "The Fates have a
strnge sense of humour at times.. but they seem to make up for it.. at
least they did with us..."
"For all of us..." Alandra
said, with a smile. "You know it really doesn't matter, where you and I
are concerned that Lex married Faal...because you know I love you." She
said softly.
Saffron smiled, feling his
heart go light at Alandra's words. "I love you too, Alandra. Here I am,
a boy who lost everything as a child, believed himself orphane and
alone... and now I stand in a room surrounded by family...with you." He
stroked a finger along her jaw. and smiled, glancing areound the room
again at all the wedding trappings..."This will be for us next.." *
"I just find it amusing...that
the one to make me realize my mistake, to make me stop and think, was
not one of my sisters, nor my brother...but our dear
little...princess." Estehl said with a smirk.
Jasmine giggled. "Yes well, I
alwasy knew our Lexine had an inner fire, so to speak... enough
apparently to stand up to a king... he fits perfectly with the rest of
the'women' in theis family..."
"Oh doesn't he though..." Estehl
chuckled. "Perfectly matched those two. A case of true love if ever
I've known one...rare for this court..." Jasmine snorted daintily. "Oh
yes, rare indeed. so rare that you've got at least three cases within
the fae side of the family alone.."
"Three cases?" Estehl asked, hiding his amusement well, and ready to catch her on missing one. "And which three cases is that?"
Jasmine smiled cheekily. "well,
there's Faal and Lex, of course, then us.. and them." she said looking
over at Saffron and Alandra.
*
Alandra laughed softly, glancing
around. "Maybe not SO grand...I'm only half a princess you know..." She
said with a smile, looking back at him. "And tell me something,
Saffron...who will have stand as your best man?
Saffron thought for a moment.
"Couldn't convince you to elope, could I? I have it on good authority
that we should.." he said with a smirk.
Alandra smirked.
"Maybe...Sheldon's less likely to threaten you then." She grinned.
"Don't know what da would say about it...Jasmine either..."
Saffron rolled his eyes.
"Actullay I DO know what your dad would say, because he already said it
to me... Faal said I should elope and I said you wanted your fairytale
wedding.. and your dad said you'd have it. Quite firmly... eloping
might be quicker, less stressful, better at avoiding my new
brotherinlaw.... but your father would NEVER forgive me... neither
would your aunts..."
Alandra laughed softly, leaned up and kissed him gently, befoer smiling and saying. "Welcome to the family, Saffron."
Saffron chuckled." Yeah..
I've already gottne that. I've had it pointed out a few times that
we're now related in some stranger and convoluted way..." he stroked
his finger over her lips, resting his forehead on hers. "Think you'r
broher would be less likely to kill me if I asked him to be my best
man? You know.. bribery? Win him over to my side... worked with Faal
and I.." his glance slid to her hands where she'd placed them on his
chest. "Must be all this romance-in the air- stuff... but I wish I had
a ring to offer you right now..." *
Estehl chuckled, catching
Jasmine's chin and turning her face upward. "Ah, my fragile little
flower. Forgive me for taking so long in realizing I loved you."
Jasmine raised an eyebrow
imperiously."Again with this begging for forgiveness... you must think
me a very forgiving woman... you ask so much..."
Estehl chuckled again. "And you ever doubted why I asked YOU to be my queen."
Jasmine smirked then was quiet for a moment, before saying softly. "I've been thinking..."
"Oh really? What now?" Estehl asked amused.
Jasmine met his eye. "Maybe...we should consider...adopting..."
"And how long have you been
considering this?" Estehl asked, smirking. "Oh, for awhile..." Jasmine
said with a smirk. "Actually, it's a suggestion that will have to be
made to Lexi and Faal later on as well...but...after Negellus...I think
it would be good idea...that you have an heir..."
*
Alandra laughed softly. "This is
Sheldon, wer'e talking about...you couldn't bribe him for
anything...but...you leave him to Rue and he'll come around." She said
with a small knowing nod. She smiled, "I don't really need a ring you
know...so some of you men need to get that through your head." She said
with a playful look.
Saffron tapped the tip of her
nose with a finger. "You may not NEED a ring... but maybe we think you
deserve one.. maybe we enjoy the nerve wracking hell of trying to
choose that one specail ring, blowing our entire savings on it and
then praying that you'll like it..."
Alandra giggled, smiling. "Yes, well all you men are funny that way. Some of us girls are happy with just being in love."
Saffron grinned wickedly as he
reached behind his neck and unfastened the catch, pulling a long chain
out from his shirt and pooling it in his hand, "Ah.. so you didn't want
THIS then.." he asked, plucking thering from the chain. Three simple
diamonds set side byside with scroll work covering the silver band.
Alandra's eyes widened at seeing the ring. "How did you....when?" She asked looking from the ring to to him.
Saffron shrugged non
chalantly, smile stealing across his face. "A while.. been waiting for
the right time.. and enough courage.. then I couldn't resist teasing
you a bit first... No rush, we could have a long engagement .. give
everytime to accept that i'm for real and not going anywhere without
you..."
Alandra beamed, "You do
realize, da's idea of a long engagment would be to victioran standards
don't you? Five years...no touching...chaperons..." She wrapped her
arms around his neck.
"Hmm I don't think so.. I'm
looking more at long engagemt while we shack up together... " he said
lokoing down at her eyes, a smirk still on his face. "Figured I'd push
my luck a bit.. after all, romantic setting, happy ending.. you just
stood by and watched me suck the life out of two people in an extremely
gross manner.. and you're still here talking about marrying me. PLUS,
we've been standing here all lovey and stuff and your dad 's only ten feet away and hasn't glared at me or knocked me on my ass yet..."
"Well for one, I think you
impressed him...standing at Faal's side. And two...I don't care that
you're a death elemental. Why would I?" She asked, with a look. "So
yes...I'm more then willing to marry you." *
Jasmine nudged Estehl and nodded
to Saffron and Alandra. "I think he's finally asked..." She said with a
smirk. "Oh really? Hmm." Estehl eyed the couple, with a look.
Jasmine leaned forward and softly said. "You never answered Estehl.. I said I'd like a child with you...."
"Why would I say no? I have been
able to say no to you yet...Jon?" Estehl asked with a smirk. "By all
means, let us adopt..." He was about to say more when he heard Alandra
call. Estehl chuckled, then yelled back. "Well good for you two!" He
rather liked the surprised look on Saffron's face.
*
Saffron grinned and cast a look
towards Estehl and saw them watching them with a curious look."You
gonna put that ring on, go over and tell them or should we jsut yell it
form here... I think i'm more comfortable with the yelling....out of
striking range.." he smirked, then glanced at them again. "I think they
know I asked.... Jasmine probably.. lady's creepy with her
knowledge.."
Alandra took the ring and
slid it on to her finger. She looked at Saffron for a moment with a
smirk, then turned her head. "Hey da! Saffron just asked me to marry, I
said yes, just thought we'd let you know!" She saw Regan turn with wide
eyes.
"damn... he must be planning
a snatch and grab when we pass by.." Saffron said with a grin . "took
that way too well." alandra laughed, wrapping her arms back around
Saffron's neck. "You do realize what your letting yourself infor,
right? I mean... I've been told I'm a callus, rude, stubborn, smug
intense guy...while I don;t agree with that all the time, I can see
some of those have applied on occassion..."He tightened his hold on her
waist looking down at her smile.
"I've put up with you so far,
haven't I? Besides, I enjoying making Sheldon grit his teeth every time
we're always together.' She said. "This should really get him." Then
she poked him. "And I don't know WHY your afraid of HIM..."
"him who, your dad or your
brother?" Saffron asked. "the King of all TerNahNog, or the ex CIA
vampire.. hmm.." he chuckled at her look. "I'm not.. not really. I'm
more afraid of them never accepting me as good enough for you then i am
of them.... " "well think of it this way...at least Jasmine is on
our side." She said with a grin. "Well, and Faal
probably...Lexi...Regan...K...your dad...so don't worry about da and
Sheldon. Beside, Da knows I'll probably run off with you if were to
object."
Saffron chuckled. then tipped his
head towards them" So.. what do you think they've been talking about
all this time... whatever it was it put your dad in a fairly good
mood.." Alandra smiled mischievoulsy. "Oh I KNOW what they were talking
about that put da in a good mood..." Saffron raised and eyebrown and
lifted her up and swung her around. "Oh really? Little eavsedroper spy
now are we?" "No, litle confidant.." she said with a laugh as he set
her back down. " Plus I saw the look on her face... I think Jasmine
just told da she'd like to adopt a babe." Saffron raised an eyebrow
then grinned. "WE"RE NOT BABYSITTING!!" he yelled over his shoulder
and received a slap to the chest followed by Alandras giggles.
"You'll baby sit if you wanna marry my daughter!" Estehl yelled back. "Don't make me sic Sheldon on you!"
"Da!" Alandra cried with a laugh.
"Alright fine, don't make me sic the princess on you!"
"Estehl!" Jasmine smacked him.
"Can I put him in the box then?!" Estehl mock whined.
