Lexi had no idea why he chose to wear something so...seductive to bed, considering it was just him in his apartment, but he’d chosen to slip into a lace and satin thigh length cami to sleep in; the robe only loosely belted, half of it hanging off his shoulder and certainly open. He moved about his apartment, shutting off the lights, thinking about Saffron and Matt for a moment. At least until a knock came to his door.
Nate paced a short piece down the hall and back to the door again as he waited for Lex to answer. He'd been tempted to ignore the strange call from Graves, but in the end he'd pretty much come running. After all, Graves wasn't one for prank calls... Hell, Graves wasn't one for calls. Plus it was Lex. He grew a bit worried when there was no answer and knocked again, deciding to give him another minute before finding a way inside on his own.
Lex frowned at the knock, but made his way over to the door, and leaned up on his toes to look out the peep hole. HE blinked in surprise to see Nate outside his door. He frowned slightly, and had a strange feeling Graves had something to do with this.
Which meant he had two choices; he could straighten the robe and answer the door, telling Nate there was nothing wrong...
…or he could take Graves' suggestion.
And something rather wicked in him decided to see if he could. So not bothering to fix the robe; which still fell off his shoulder and lay mostly open, revealing the lace and satin cami; Lex unlocked his door, took a breath and opened it. "It's after midnight, Nate..." He said softly.
Nate felt a surge of relief as Lex opened the door. "I know what bleedin' time it is..." Nate said as he slipped past Lex into the apartment and cast a wary look around. "Are ye alright?" he asked, keeping his voice low. He finally turned back to face Lex and only then noticed what the red head was wearing. He felt his face start to burn with a blush. "Graves... said ye needed me..."
Lex closed his door, and leaned back against it, with his hands behind his back, which only caused the robe to fall down more on his shoulder. "Graves is stuck in Maine with my brother, for a funeral...he's no doubt bored out of his mind, and forced to torment people over the phone..." Lex replied in the same soft tone, unable to help the slight smirk that came with that thought though; knowing if either of what Matt or Saffron said was true about all the seducing, the Matt was definitely not bored. "I don't really NEED you...but your company's certainly appreciated..."
Nate felt his face grow ever hotter as he realized he'd been had. He swallowed, unable to take his eyes off Lex. "Then... ye don'... need me..?" he asked softly, suddenly wishing he'd worn more then just his jeans. When he'd decided to believe the call, he'd pulled on his jeans and boots, tucked one of his guns into the small of his back and left. Now, standing here in a dimly lit apartment with an incredibly sexy looking Lex a couple feet away...
Lex stayed where he was for a moment, watching Nate. If he was going to go through with this, he might as well go through with it...all the way if that’s where things went...it was a risk he'd have to take, or he'd never do it again. He locked the door behind him and came away from it. "Define need..." He replied softly, taking the few steps needed too close the distance between him and Nate. "I think it's more that I...want you..." Lex added in a softer tone, hesitating a moment, before reaching out and letting his fingers brush over Nate's chest.
Nate suddenly couldn’t breathe as he stared at Lex, his chest tingling where Lex’s fingers touched. "Lexi..." he said softly when he managed to find his voice. "Don' be jokin’ with me... please..." He was just thinking that it must be a dream... that would explain Graves pulling a practical joke as well as Lex looking and acting so incredibly sexy...
Lex closed the last bit of distance between them, looking up at Nate, sliding his hand upward to slip his arm around Nate's neck. "I'm not joking." He said seriously. "For once, I'm being brave enough to show my feelings." He added a touch passionately, as if the idea of him joking, hurt; Which it did. He let go of Nate long enough to untie the robe and let it drop to the floor.
Nate let his gaze follow the robe as it fluttered to the floor before slowing raising it again, taking his time. "If yer not jokin'..." he said softly. "Then I must be dreamin'... Not surprisin' considerin' yer my favorite dream..." he said softly, still slightly stunned by events. He reached out to stroke Lex's cheek lightly as if to prove to himself he could touch him. "Lards yer more beautiful every time I see ye..."
"I'm not a dream..." Lex replied softly, still in the slightly hurt tone and there was a touch of tears in his eyes. He wanted Nate to understand that he wanted him. His slipped his arms around Nate's neck and leaned up, kissing him. It was hesitant, but passionate.
Nate moaned softly into the kiss, his arms automatically slipping around him. After a moment he broke the kiss enough to look at him. "Are ye sure about this, Lexi?" he asked quietly, his voice barely even a whisper. "Ye have no idea what this means t' me... how long I've been dreamin' of ye...." he added. "I don’t think I'll be able to stop ifn'...."
Lex pulled him back in for a kiss, silencing him and letting that be his answer. He let go of Nate with one hand, sliding it down his chest, before letting it caress him through his jeans, while he kissed him.
Nate moaned again then suddenly gave in and kissed him back hungrily as he held him, one hand slipping up through the Lex's hair. He'd been keeping his attraction for Lex a secret through most of the past year, with only Eire knowing about it, and it felt beyond amazing to finally have the reality of all his daydreams. "Lexi..." he whispered between kisses as he felt Lex's fingers stroke him through the jeans. "I'm sorry I never told ye..."
Lex kissed him again, more passionate, silencing him. "Don't apologize, Nate..." He said softly, "You have a chance to make it up to me..."
Nate returned the kiss hungrily, unable to fully believe this was really happening. With a soft moan as he explored Lex's mouth with his own and made a decision to live this night to the fullest, whether it was a dream or not. When he had to break for another gasp of breath, he did something he'd always dreamed of doing; he swept Lex into his arms. "Which door is yer bedroom, Lexi...?" he asked softly.
Lex was caught by surprise at being swept up, but a soft giggle escaped him and he actually smiled. He resolved to send Graves a thanks in the morning by text. "The last one." Lex replied, wrapping his arms around Nate's neck. He only hoped Saffron was this happy, if it was true...
Nate as he carried Lex into the bedroom and straight to the bed. The blankets were already turned back ready and waiting, so he set him on the exposed part, brushing the top sheets back a bit farther as he did. "Lards yer making m' heart ache yer so beautiful, Lexi..." he said softly, kissing him again before stepping back enough to take off his boots and set his gun on the nightstand, before undoing his jeans. "I've wanted this fer a long time, darlin'..."
Lex pulled his hair out of the braid, letting it fall loose and looked at Nate. "You only had to ask..." He replied softly with a faint smile, leaning on his hands. One side of the cami slipped off his shoulder, revealing quite a bit of his chest, but he didn't bother to correct it.
Nate gave a soft groan at that as he kicked free of his jeans and knelt on the edge of the bed to kiss him again. "I couldna, darlin' ... I was scared shitless of scarin' ye off or ruinin' our friendship... E's been callin' me a dumb arse fer ages over it... Hate when th' buggers right..." he added with a smirk.
Lex smirked a bit, wrapping his arms around Nate's neck and kissing him back, before lying back on the bed and pulling him with him. "You'll have to let Eire say I told you so, tomorrow. And I'll send Graves a thank you..." He replied softly, between kissing him.
"Send both th' bastards flowers or some such shite... thank 'em but embarrass th' shite out of em at th' same time…" Nate agreed with a soft chuckle as he stretched out beside Lex, kissing him softly as he let his fingers stroke along his neck and shoulder.
Lex let one hand caress over Nate's chest and smirked faintly. "Might have to wait a bit on that for Graves, or let Saffron thank him for me...But no use thinking about that right now..." Lex replied softly, before kissing him a bit harder. "Don't think about any of them, tonight..."
Nate smiled softly as he returned the kiss then pulled back enough to kiss Lex's neck instead. With a soft moan, he trailed kisses down Lex's neck and shoulders until he reached material, then he kissed and caressed his way down the front of it as he slowly pushed it higher. "Yer all I'm thinkin' of tonight, Lexi... tonight an' ferever..." he whispered softly as his hands slipped over Lex's hips and met bare skin at his waist.
Lex whimpered softly, closing his eyes as he leaned back on the bed. He let his hands slid over Nate's chest and back. If he hadn't given in and started this himself, he would have felt it was all a dream, finally having Nate like this. It felt almost too good to be real.
By the time Nate's lips met the bare skin of Lex's stomach, his erection was painfully hard and already weeping precum. He gave a soft whimper of his own as he sucked playfully at Lex's belly button a moment before quickly shimming out of his boxer shorts and starting to remove Lex's very feminine panties, a match to the nightgown.
Lex squirmed slightly, lifting his hips enough for Nate to pull off the panties, and moved enough that he pulled the nightgown off as well, leaving him completely naked.
Nate gave a soft moan as he looked down at Lex stretched out before him. "Damn yer somethin' else..." he said softly before leaning back down to kiss him again, kneeling between Lex’s knees as he did.
Lex kissed him back deeply, letting his hands caress downward over Nate's chest. He'd moved his legs enough for Nate to kneel there, but let one hand drift even lower, just wanting to touch him, and let his fingers brush over the hard length of him.
Nate gave a soft moan as his erection twitched at Lex's touch. "Careful, luv... I want ye too badly..." he whispered softly as he kissed him again. "Not tha' I don’t plan on makin' this night last ferever... we'll both be needin' t' call in sick tomorrow from plain exhaustion... an' not bein' able to walk..." he added with a soft chuckle.
A soft giggle escaped Lex as he kissed him back, and he let his fingers brush over him one more time, before sliding that hand upward over his chest. "I'm all yours..." He said softly behind the kiss.
Nate looked down at him with a soft smile at those words. "That is one of th' most amazin' things I've ever been told, darlin'.." he said, his eyes sparkling. "An' don’t worry... ye can continue yer explorin' in abit..." he added, using a bit of precum as lube and stroking Lex's entrance as he kissed him hungrily.
Lex whimpered softly behind the kiss, managing to kiss him back. Nate's touch was enough to drive him crazy already. "I'll be yours as long as you want me..." Lex replied softly behind the kiss, squirming slightly.
Nate pulled his fingers free only to lift Lex's hips into a better position, rubbing the tip against him a moment. "Then yer in fer th' long haul, sweetheart... cause I never imagine NOT wantin' ye." he said, then started to ease himself inside, unable to speak again until he was completely inside him. With a panted breath, he kissed Lex softly, staying still for a moment. "I love ye, Lexine... Th' roses ye got fer Valentines an' on yer birthday tha' no one would admit t' sendin'... those were from me, luv. I fell head over heels fer ye a while ago, sweetheart..."
Lex sighed softly behind the kiss, before wrapping his legs around Nate's hips. "Then I should thank you for them...since I didn't know who to thank then..." He replied softly, a soft moan escaping him at feel of Nate inside him finally. Eire had hinted at knowing who'd sent the roses, but never told him directly. It was the first time any one had ever sent anything like that.
Nate smiled softly and kissed him, brushing a lock of hair off Lex's cheek. "Ye don' have t' thank me, Lexi... just say ye'll be m' boyfriend…" he said softly, his entire body screaming at him to move as he continued to hold still.
Lex kissed Nate back, soft and tender, pulling back enough to look him in the eyes. His own sparkled slightly with unshed tears, though they were certainly happy tears. "Gods, of course, Nate..." He breathed softly. "I'm all yours..."
Nate smiled again, kissing him again before leaning back, his hands holding Lex's legs as he started to move within him. He kept his gaze on Lex, watching every flicker of emotion cross his face as he set a slow deep pace, determined to keep it as long as he could.
Lex moaned softly, his hips coming up with each of Nate's strokes, never having experienced it so wonderfully. It'd never been this good with Rowen and Lex was actually glad of that. He'd willingly think of Nate as his lover, more then anyone else. He'd wanted to be Nate's for months now. It’d gotten hard, watching all the girls at work flirt with Nate...or anywhere for that matter. And the only person Lex had had to rant to, was Saffron, who more then understood.
"M' gorgeous firebrand..." he said with a soft smirk as he moved, leaning down to kiss Lex's chest. "Yer part o' m' heart, Lexi..." he said softly, meaning it both figuratively and literally. Three months ago he'd gone in and had the winged heart tattoo on his chest added to; delicate flames now surrounded the heart itself. He'd had it done right after he'd bought an 'anniversary' gift for Lex, planning on sending it anonymously if he still hadn't found the nerve to face him with his feelings. The slim blue velvet box was still hidden in his underwear drawer waiting for the middle of December to mark the day Lex first came to Chaos Inc. Now though... he decided there was no way he'd be able to wait that long to give it to him.
"I don't ever want to be any one else's but yours, Nate...never let me go..." Lex replied with a soft moan, his eyes closed. One hand tangled his fingers in Nate's hair gently, the other caressing his chest. He didn't care what any one at the offices thought about this, he just wanted to be with Nate.
"Never, luv." Nate said softly in reply as he picked up his pace slightly, one hand stroking over Lex's chest to pluck lightly at his nipples. He kept his gaze away from the collar that still circled Lex's throat, not wanting to think of what he'd been through right then. Lex was his now... that's all that mattered. With a soft moan, Nate leaned down to catch hold of one tiny bud of a nipple and suck gently.
Lex inhaled sharply, arching more against Nate with a whimper. Despite Nate being slow and gentle, he could feel the orgasm already building, nothing like he'd really ever felt before.
"Hmm m' Lexi.." Nate muttered softly as he left one nipple and worked his way over to the other. "M' flame." he added, giving the delicate bud a playful nip before catching his mouth in a hungry kiss, the pace shifting to something more hungry as well… almost demanding and yet never becoming too rough. "M' love."
Lex tightened his embrace on Nate, arching slightly against him, moaning softly. It all felt so very right and he couldn't see himself with any one but Nate ever again. He didn't want to be with any one but Nate. "Gods...I love you..." Lex breathed softly behind the kiss.
Nate smiled brightly at those words. "Lards... that sounds even more wonderful then ye tellin' your all mine..." he said softly, kissing him again. "Tell me yer close, darlin'..." he said softly, his voice sounding a bit breathless. "Not sure how much longer I can keep this up right now... an' no way in hell am I comin' without ye..." he added with a weak chuckle.
Lex gasped for a breath for a moment, as he felt it all building faster and more intense. "I'm very close..." He managed to reply in a whisper, not sure he'd ever felt it this way, or this wonderful.
"Very close?" Nate repeated playfully as he kissed him again before rising back to his knees, pulling Lex's hips up to meet him. "Very very close?" he asked teasingly as he started moving again, the angle allowing him to go deeper as well as letting him watch Lex's face. He gave a slight twist to his hips as he gave a deep thrust, then gave a deep moan himself as he almost lost it right then. "Come fer me, Lexi…" he breathed softly, letting go of one leg to stroke Lex's erection.
Lex inhaled sharply arching more, he moaned, one hand gripping the sheets hard as he twisted. "Oh gods...Nate..." He moaned softly, knowing he wouldn't be able to hold back. With a soft cry, he came, arching more.
Nate moaned softly as he felt the hot splashing of cum hit his stomach as he leaned over to kiss Lex, cutting off his cry as he increased his pace enough to bring himself over the edge as well.
Nate's kiss stole what breath Lex had managed to get after crying out, and he was left breathless when he dropped back to the bed, his head spinning. It'd never felt so wonderful, a faint giggle escaped him at the thought.
Nate gave a soft groan as he stretched out beside him, automatically pulling Lex into his arms. "Th' only word tha' comes t' mind... is 'wow'.." he said with a soft chuckle, kissing him tenderly.
Lex smirked slightly, snuggling against Nate. "That's a first all around for me...no one's ever cared whether I enjoyed it or not..." Lex said softly, blissfully happy.
"I care, Lexi." Nate said softly, cuddling him close. "I don’t want t' enjoy it if ye don't..." he said, kissing him tenderly. "Lards... datin' ye is goin' t' so hard..." he whispered softly, brushing his lips against Lex's hair.
Lex blinked, turning his head enough to look up at Nate. "Why?" He asked softly.
Nate smirked wearily. and stroked the hair back off of Lex's face. "Because datin' is goin' out together an' kissin' goodnight an' goin' home alone, most nights." he said softly. "An' as much as I love th' idea of th' rest of it... I hate th' thought of wakin' up without ye.."
"So be my lover, as well as my boyfriend..." Lex replied softly, looking at him. "Stay with me every night...or I'll stay with you..." He replied softly, snuggling closer to him.
Nate chuckled softly. "Well thank ye, luv.. but I was already plannin' on bein' yer lover... since I just finished crossin' tha' particular boundry.." he said, kissing him softly. "An' ifn we're goin' t' sleepin' over constantly... we might as well move in together. Don't ye think it's a bit soon fer tha' though? One night as lovers without even an official first date...?"
Lex frowned slightly but shook his head. "I don't see anything wrong with it." Lex replied softly. "It’s not we're perfect strangers...we've known each other almost two years..." Lex added. "I'd move in with you, if you asked..."
Nate searched his face for a moment, smiling. "I'd love tha', Lexi... but I think I'd much rather move in with ye. Out from under every one’s nose, so t' speak." he said softly. "If ye'd care t' have me here, tha' is. Can always find a different place together..."
Lex blushed slightly, but snuggled more against Nate. "I'd like that...I mean for you to move in here with me..." He replied soft. "I'd like to have you here with me..." He added.
Nate smiled softly and kissed him, his fingers caressing Lex's cheek tenderly. "Then I will. " he said simply. "I can start movin' m' things over a bit at a time... or shall we do one big movin' day and get it over with..?" he asked, letting his hand slip down to stroke Lex's back as they spoke.
"Which would you rather deal with more, where the questions are concerned?" Lex asked with a faint smirk. "All at once, or a little at a time?"
Nate snorted softly. "I plan on lettin' every one know right off yer mine, Darlin'. I'll grab some cartons tomorrow an' start packin' an' tell Sylv I'll be movin' in with ye. Unless tomorrow's too soon fer ye t' hide all th' stuff ye don’ want me t' be seein'...?"
Lex was forced to laugh softly, smirking. "As if I have anything I need to hide...Tomorrow's fine with me..." Lex replied softly, feeling drowsy, but forcing himself to stay awake. "Maybe if you tell everyone about us, it'll spare Saffron...especially where our father is concerned..." Lex said softly, stifling a yawn. "He certainly likes you over, Graves..."
Nate snorted softly. "I'm friends an' partners with his wife... he HAS t' at least pretend t' like me or Kay'll give him hell. Tha'll change when he finds out I'm shackin' up with his son..." he said lightly, settling a bit more into the bed with Lex still in his arms. "Well then.. it's settled. Tomorrow, assumin' either of us can walk an' has enough energy t' do so... I'll move in with ye."
"How little you know...If he really didn't like you, I think you'd know...with out Kay knowing...just those little things..." Lex said, snuggling against him. "And you can recruit Eire to help you move." He added with a smirk.
"Was planning on it." Nate said softly, his eyes closed as he enjoyed just holding him. Suddenly something Lex had said hit him. "Hold up... what did ye mean..? Are ye tellin' me Saffron an' Graves are... `together’, together?" he asked in surprise.
Lex smirked, moving enough to look up at Nate. "They went to Maine, for a funeral of a friend of Saffron's...I guess while there...Saffron either came clean, or things...just worked in his favor...He's been in love with Graves for awhile..." Lex said.
Nate snorted softly. "Thought ye meant together as in... around each other... didnae catch ye meant they were lovers..." he said with a soft smirk. "Well.. as scare as th' thought is of Graves with anyone I know... good fer them. I hope they're happy." he said softly.
"Hmm, yus, I told him people around the office were either going to be scared out of their minds at the though, or have heart attacks...As for being happy..." Lex giggled softly. "At the time I was talking to him, I have a feeling Saffron was having fun with him..."
"Ach lad.. don’t go there.. please.." Nate said with a playful grimace. "I'm havin' a hard enough time just acceptin' th' relationship... don’ be needin' any visuals..." he added with a soft chuckle and kissed him lightly. "Close yer eyes an' get some rest Lexi... got a long night yet ahead of us.. an' a busy day tomorrow..."
Lex smirked, snuggling closer. "Oh well...I just want to see the look on everyone else’s faces when they get back...I'm not missing work that day...Added to the fact I'll get to meet my new nephew..."
Nate propped himself up on his elbow at that and looked down at him. "Pardon?" he asked incredulously. "Ye lost me luv... when did ye get a nephew? Lards.. a man hits the road fer a couple days workin' an' when he gets back, th' bloody world has flipped arse over teakettle..." he said with a soft laugh.
"Oh well, the friend who's funeral it is, Saffron was really close to...sort of like a big brother to Saff. Close enough in fact that Saffron was named godparent to his friend's four year old son, Destin I think is his name. Saff went up to see to all the legal work and the funeral and to bring his godson home with him."
Nate looked down at him. "Damn. So... Saff is goin' t' be raisin' th' lad now?" he asked, settling back down and wrapping his arm around Lex again. "With Graves no less... guess we'll be playin' favorite uncles an' kidnappin' th' lad fer sleepovers t' give them all a break from each other..." he said. "Not tha' I'd mind. We could see about takin' th' lad ridin' some time..."
"Hmm, yeah. Saff's about to become a single parent. Well I suppose he and Graves are going to be together, Graves'll help, but you know...that wont set any better with dad then all of this already is...He wants Saffron to move into the complex here, but I don't see that happening any time soon." Lex said softly.
"Especially not if he's with Graves. If Graves is plannin' on helpin' yer brother raise th' lad... I'm bettin' they move out t' his place. Puts a fair chunk o' distance between him an' yer folks too." Nate said softly. "Probably fer th' best actually...."
"Considering I'll never see Saffron moving into here; It's just not going to happen." Lex said softly, making himself comfortable. “Saffron's too likely to move else where, to be happy. Is it any wonder they're always fighting..? Saff's not about to give in to our father."
Nate snorted softly. don;t blame 'em... I wouldnae be givin' int' him either. But then I'm a MacDonnell.. we're known fer bein' stubborn bastards.." he added with a soft chuckle, cuddling Lex closer. The idea of having a kid around now stuck in his head. With a soft sigh, he kissed Lex's neck lightly. "What would ye say about havin' a kid or two runnin' underfoot, Lexie?" he asked softly. "I mean... not right away. Suppose ifn' we'd ever want t' consider adoptin' then... we should be married first..."
Lex sighed softly, his head lying on Nate's chest. But he was forced to smile a bit. "I suppose we eventually will have to get married..." He said softly. "Haven't you been keeping up with things..? Eire knows after all...A year from now the magics end...Saff and I will change...well, we still have to find our sibling too, but.."
"Well.. I know tha' luv... an' I was hopin' ye'd agree t' marry me in a while, but fer now.. I don’t mind just bein' yer lover." Nate said softly, kissing his shoulder. "An' th' idea of havin' babies with ye in a couple years is a right nice one. But... I was thinkin' it might be nice t' adopt an' kid old enough t' really enjoy doin' things with... an' who really needs a home an' family t' love 'em..." he said softly.
"Well it really is something to look into later on..." Lex replied softly, closing his eyes, just enjoying the moment. "I wouldn't say no to the idea..."
Nate kissed Lex's neck again. "Just th' thought of Saff an' Graves with a wee one runnin' around made me think, tha's all. Suppose fosterin' would be just as easy an' we'd help more kids tha' way... but I'm not sure I could take th' wee buggers in.. an' then have t' give 'em back up again..." he said. "Maybe we should just wait until things happen as we have our own..."
"It’s still something we could think about..." Lex replied softly, stifling a yawn. "I really don't see anything against the idea of adopting...and I rather think you'd make a wonderful father..." Lex added, blushing.
Nate blushed lightly at that, cuddling Lex closer. "Aye…think I'd have blast at it... Love kids, just never got t' really enjoy havin' em around as much as I'd like..." he said softly. "Ye know... when I found out about ye changin'... I knew I was gonna have t' find th' nerve t' let ye know how I felt before then. Ye had enough guys after ye as it was..."
Lex blushed himself. "If you say so...don't really think I noticed if I did or not...was too busy being jealous over all the girls flirting with you..." Lex replied with a faint smile. "And listening to Saff rant about the same thing..."
Nate blushed even more. "Really? Then havin' Meeks throwin' herself at me all th' time must have been just as tirin' fer ye as it as fer m'self... th' woman would just not take 'fuck off' as an answer..."
Lex snorted softly. "We won’t even go there...she's lucky she never burst into flames..." Lex replied softly with a faint smirk, blushing more. "Saff even had to stop me once or twice from going through with the idea..."
Nate was quiet for a moment before sighing softly and decided to just come clean. "Actually...some of it was m' own fault. I... I slept with her. Just th' once mind ye... an' I blame drinkin' with E' an' thinkin' o' ye as th' reason she got t' me... But after tha'... she was even harder t' get rid a..." he said softly. "I'm sorry, Lexi."
Lex blinked sleepily for a moment, before turning enough to look at him, eyeing him a moment. "Well I bet that's a mistake you regret." He replied simply. There wasn't any point to Lex to being mad about it.
Nate snorted. "Aye... yer damn right I regret it. Havenae drank tha' much again since, thank ye... E's been bitchin' I'm slackin' off. I just felt like shite when I woke up an' realized what I'd done... All I could think of was what ye'd think..."
"Really isn't much use for me to be mad about it, Nate...We weren't together...You had a right to sleep with who ever you wanted..." Lex replied softly, being honest.
"Oh I know tha', luv. An' I know tha' were th' boot on th' other foot I'd be jealous as hell over it... but try to be just as understandin’." he said softly. "Th' problem wasn't tha' I was cheatin' on ye or anythin'... Like ye said, we were just friends then. But... I knew how I felt about ye… an' it felt like cheatin'... despite tha'."
"But you see, Nate...that's the difference. The last guy I was with...really couldn't be counted as a boyfriend...as you know. I was just a possession, I've always just been a possession...or a slave...I know better then to have feelings like that, so...why should I have or feel jealous about it...or upset..? It was your choice even if it was a mistake..." Lex said softly, not looking at him.
Nate sighed softly and cupped Lex's cheek, tuning his face to look at him. "Sweetheart... I love ye... I've loved yer fer a long while. I was weak an' stupid an' I fucked up an' feel like shite fer doin' it." he said softly. "But.. I just wanted ye t' know from me tha' it happened an' not end up hearin' about it elsewhere. Think th' only ones th' know are Eire m' self an her... so..." he blushed and gave a slight shrug. "I just want t' be honest with ye, luv. An' fer th' record... usually wantin' t'set fire t' someone over them hittin' on a fella ye like... is a big sign o' jealousy." he added with a smirk and stole a kiss.
Lex blushed even more. "It was only a couple times..." He muttered softly. "Bare with me, I'm new at this..." He added, but kissed Nate back. "Regardless...I still forgive you..."
Nate chuckled softly and cuddled closer. "Thank ye. An' fer th' record... ye coulda set her on fire... she's a water element... sure she coulda put herself out... Coulda only helped her wardrobe.." he said with a soft laugh.
"Don't encourage me, Nate." Lex replied with a faint smirk, and stifled a yawn, going back to having his head laying on Nate's chest.
Nate chuckled softly. "Go to sleep, luv... sweet dreams." he said softly, stroking Lex’s hair tenderly.
"Don't wanna go to sleep; don't want this to end." Lex replied softly with another yawn, though his eyes were closed.
"Go t' sleep, luv... ye ferget... it's never gonna end. I'll be right here beside ye every night from now on." he said softly.
Lex sighed softly, though it was content and snuggled a little closer, lying against him. With another yawn, he started to drift off to sleep, happier then he ever had been.
~~
Nate found he just couldn't stop grinning. He couldn’t remember ever feeling so incredibly... happy. The night had been spent in intervals of making love and sleeping and talking, and they'd ended up sleeping in a bit because of it. They'd enjoyed a light breakfast and snuggled while lingering over coffee until they decided they should go start moving Nate's things in if they wanted to get it done. Since there was very little chance of them not being seen on the way in, Lex dug out a t-shirt for Nate to wear before they headed back to the office building.
The security guard behind the counter was smirking slightly at Nate as they entered the building and Lex blinked, glancing at the man as they headed up stairs. The lobby was empty with no one at the desk, which was odd since there was almost ALWAYS one secretary at the desk. Then they heard talking and laughter from down the hall at the staff kitchen. "Now what is going on?” Lex muttered as they headed that way. They turned into the staff kitchen, to find a group of people; mostly secretaries, gathered around the table. Some of the people shifted and Lex caught sight of Eire's hair, sitting down. A fifteen month old baby boy was sitting on his lap, a large cardboard tv box next to Eire's chair, and everyone was fawning over the baby, who's hair was a reddish brown...and eyes the same lovely shade of green as Nate’s. Lex blinked, staring at the scene.
Nate raised an eyebrow as he spotted Eire and the baby, a slight smirk on his face. "Hey now... Who’d be dumb enough t' trust ye with a wee bairn like that?" he asked jokingly, his eyes sparkling. "Seriously... who's wee one?"
Some of the secretaries moved enough for Nate and Lex. Eire looked up, a half empty bottle was sitting on the table next to his elbow. The baby was just in a diaper. "Yours." Eire answered seriously, with out a smirk, but his eyes were sparkling.
Lex blinked. "Huh?" He asked Eire.
"Aye...there was a birth certificate in the box. Nate's listed as the father. Course, it's obvious to me; he smells like him." Eire said, before standing and putting the toddler into Nate's arms.
Nate stared in shock at Eire and blinked as he suddenly found himself holding the boy. "Mine?!" he asked, stunned. "Are ye bloody serious?" he asked as he looked down to find emerald green eyes looking up at him. There was no mistaking those eyes.. they were his mothers as well as his own. "Oh shite..." he said softly, shocked but oddly thrilled at the same time. "Wait... hold up.. Who's his mum? An' what box?!" he asked as his eyes came to rest on the cardboard box beside Eire. "He was in a BOX?!"
Eire snorted softly. "Aye, security found the box sitting on the front step this mornin'. After they ran scans Craig opened the box an' found the wee lad sleepin'...in jus' the diaper. The birth certificate was in there too." Eire said, holding up the plastic covered certificate. "Ye remember Alissa I imagine." Eire said. "Course the boy doesn't 'ave a name."
"What d' ye mean, he doesnae have a name?! Look at him? Ye cannae have a babe this old an' NOT name him... an' ye have his birth certificate..." Nate said, shifting the boy a bit more comfortably in his arms. The boy continued to stare at him, one hand latching onto his pony tail.
Eire gave smirk as he watched him and pointed to the certificate. "If ye can read it... by all means..." he said and Nate snatched it from him. Where the boy's name had been written was nothing but a mess where someone had literally scribbled and scratched it out. Nate stared at it a moment then looked up. "Alissa?! Lards... I havenae seen or heard from her in two years?!" he said, then looked at the toddler with a sigh. "Damn... looks like Graves isnae th' only one who's going t' be a father before havin' a clue what t' do about it...." he muttered softly.
"She always seemed bit outta it, if ye ask me." Eire said, sitting back down. Makes me wonder iffin it was e'en her that dumped the kid here." He added.
Lex was looking from the toddler to Nate, then at the birth certificate. "On the up side," Lex said after a moment. "It shouldn't be TOO hard to track down his name..."
Nate looked over at Lex and smiled softly. "Aye… got th' name of th' hospital an' all." he said then sighed. "Well... suppose th' two things we need t' do, is get this lad some clothes an' things.... an' track down Alissa. Lards... I shoulda sworn off women ages ago... I've got th' worst bloody taste apparently..." he muttered softly.
Eire had to laugh at that. "Oh yeah...but I won’t say I told ye so." He replied, nodding over Nate's shoulder. Lex glanced back and saw Meeks watching with a raised eyebrow. "As fer getting the lad things," Eire kicked the box lightly and Lex looked. Plenty of people had started filling the box with baby things, everything from clothes to diapers, to bath stuff and blankets. "No one could stand the idea o' the lad not havin' anything." Eire said.
Nate smiled softly and looked around at the secretaries. "Thank ye ladies. Hell... since yer in tha' kinda mood... why don’t ye just plan a baby shower? Ye can have Lexi to pile everythin' on since he'll be th' lad's new 'mum'." he said with a smirk to Lex. "Oy.. by th' way, E'... I'm kidnappin’ yer arse today t' help me move out."
Lex blushed at that, though he smiled faintly. The toddler was looking around with interest, but seemed comfortable in Nate's arms. Eire raised an eyebrow. "`Bout fuckin' time." He replied with a smirk.
Nate blushed slightly. "Aye... ye told me so." he said with a chuckle. "Remind me t' order a big bouquet o' flowers t' send t' Graves too... pinks an' pretty colors.." he said with a wicked grin, his eyes sparkling.
"Wha' for?" Eire asked.
"`Cause it was Graves' fault Nate showed up at my apartment last night." Lex replied with a slight smirk.
Eire barked a laugh. "Nice...real nice."
"Aye... bastard conned me. Set me right up an' I never suspected him." Nate said with a laugh, ignoring the feeling of being stared at. No doubt it was Meeks not happy with news of him having a kid or being with Lex. "Lexi... while me an' E' are busy packin’ m' shite, why don’ ye grab yer mum an' sister t' help ye set up a nursery fer th' lad?" he asked with a smirk. "It'll give th' ladies a chance t' talk at ye about me anyhow."
Lex snorted softly, "It's a good thing I'm renting a two bedroom apartment. I'll take him if you want." Lex replied, trying not to look back at the door.
"I will say, fer wha' ye can see, when ye hold the certificate up t' the light, his name looks like Evan." Eire said. "But Alissa's crazy 'nough t' scratch it out...specially iffin' she is or was pissed at ye."
“Evan...sounds an awful lot like Devin ifn ye ask me." Nate said with a smirk. "Might be Ewan... she was nuts about th' damned actor.. Actually... think there was an Evan she kept on about to, come t' think of it..." Nate said softly. "Aw well... th' woman was looney tunes. Sorry ye have t' give up yer library before ye even get it set up, Lexi. We can put in fer a bigger place ifn ye want. Plenty of th' three an' four bedroom's left I think. An' aye... suppose th' lads better of with ye an' th' ladies. Lards know what he'll get int' with us..." he said but still made no move to hand him over to Lex as if unwilling to part with him. "Guess I'd better be callin' mum as well..."
"Knowin' Alissa, who knows. Can always change the boy's name later." Eire replied.
Lex snorted softly, but took the toddler. "I don't mind giving up my library for now...we can look into a bigger place later on." He told Nate.
"Aye... an' in th' meantime... we'll just keep yer books up high where he cannae eat 'em. Apparently eatin’ books is a family trait... Mum always complained about us gettin' a hold of her cooks books an' what not as wee ones an' chewin' on 'em" he said with a chuckle and stole a kiss as he handed the kid over the rest of the way. "Actually... has anyone taken th' lad up t' see th' doc?" he asked softly. "Maybe ye should do tha' first. Doc can' contact th' hospital an' have them track down th' lads charts an' see ifn he's up t' date on his boosters an' such as well as get his first name fer ye..."
